Today we’d like to introduce you to Ally Amore
Hi Ally, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always been obsessed with creating visuals, whether it’s photo or video I love it all. I actually started in front of the camera instead of behind it. It was easy to get into photography since almost everyone I knew was a photographer or model. I was gifted a camera and had plenty of friends to practice with! I quickly progressed from being in front of the camera to behind it all the time, finding that to be significantly more rewarding to me. One of my friends needed assistance at a wedding she was capturing, and I realized that’s where I’m happiest. I felt honored to be able to capture so many intimate moments amongst friends and family – and still do at every wedding. In 2021 I started to dabble in video professionally and loved the way I could tell a story in motion differently than I could with my photos. I now offer photo, video, and content creation for any event, family, brand or business – and I truly mean any.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Honestly when running a legitimate, ethical, and responsible wedding photography business, one of the biggest challenges I’ve encountered has been managing the expenses associated with maintaining high standards of service while ensuring sustainability. A wedding photographer must invest in top-notch equipment, storage, and insurance—just to name a few of the basics.
By far the biggest challenge I’ve faced is balancing the desire to offer premium services with the reality of keeping the business financially viable. With the current economy couple’s budgets are getting lower and tighter – while all of my business expenses are constantly increasing due to inflation. From covering licensing, business taxes, insurance, and employees to making sure my editing software is up-to-date and investing in my website and premium gallery and video delivery services for clients, it’s a continuous process of managing both quality and cost. These expenses ensure that every couple gets the best experience possible, from the moment they first inquire to the delivery of their final images.
That being said, I believe these investments make a significant difference in the overall experience I can provide for couples. Although I”m not the cheapest – I’m committed to delivering a high-value service, which includes not just beautiful photos, but also reliable communication, a transparent contract, and a deep understanding of their needs. It’s all about creating lasting memories while ensuring that clients feel supported and confident throughout their entire journey with us.
So I’ll keep investing in the right tools and practices, staying true to my values—producing high-quality, ethical, and responsible work that my clients can trust. Even if it’s my biggest challenge in this economy.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I do both photography and videography and specialize in weddings and events, although I also do portrait work often. I am known for my documentary style and true to color editing, always capturing candid moments and adding editorial touches. I love bright vibrant imagery that tells a story.
What makes you happy?
This is going to sound corny but honestly what has always made me happy is making other people happy. I started photography as just a hobby, not thinking at all how my gift can bring so much happiness to others. For example, one of my couples had adorable fur babies they wanted to include in their engagement session, one of them had cancer so it was really important to me to get a few solo shots of her favorite doggy – just in case. It was just a month later when he passed and she told me she had thought of me when he passed because she was just so grateful and happy to have those memories preserved forever in my photographs. I was so happy I was able to give her a small piece of happiness in such a sad situation.
