Rising Stars: Meet Andei Cartwright of Jasper

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andei Cartwright.

Hi Andei, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started working in retail, customer service jobs, and other minor opportunities when I was 16. Learning all the positions from the most minor to top manager. I went to online school to get my degree in business management. Business politics caused me to decide to take the risk and start my own companies. I currently run 3 businesses. The most productive is King Hoss Auto Handyman Mobile Services, LLC. Tanglewood Lane Community is the next productive, followed by Andei’s Masquerade.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has never been a smooth road. The main struggle is Financial. Not having been born into a wealthy family, acquiring financial backing is impossible. So things start small and extremely slow. It is still a struggle today. Another main struggle is people not believing in your dream, and just writing you off to a scam artist.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I have 3 businesses going. The following is a bit about each of them.
King Hoss Auto Handyman Mobile Services, LLC is a mobile mechanic and handyman service I started back in 2019 for my husband, when the company we were working for decided to close its doors.
Tanglewood Lane Community is a 4 mobile home community that we rent, run and live in.
Andei’s Masquerade, LLC is an online retail company selling specialized goods directed towards the gothic/punk culture.
I don’t know that I am known for anything other than my “schemes”. I am an “outside the box” thinker so most people just write me off or ignore my comments.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I am always taking risks. You cant make an omelet without breaking some eggs, right? Some pan out, others not so much. One day something will take off.
