Rising Stars: Meet Angel Dust

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angel Dust.

Hi Angel, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Singing has always resonated with me being that I’ve always been around music all my life. From participating in youth church choirs to being in school choirs and joining music groups with friends growing up. I always wrote music, poetry, maintained my aspirations of becoming a professional singer. I started taking music seriously back in 2016 when I get picked up by a music group from Cleveland, CNC. I’ve accompanied a lot of tracks for major and upcoming artists, both in and outside of the city, performed in places where I’ve dreamt of performing at as a teenager growing up, networking and connecting with a lot of talented people who are based in different areas of the music industry, and applied all that I’ve learned towards my own music, towards my artistry, skill set and as an individual.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Now I’d be lying to ya if I said this has been a smooth road haha. Absolutely not! And you know what? That’s beautiful. And I’m glad that I don’t have it easy because although I would be farther, I would lack the experiences, lessons and intelligence I’ve gained a long the way. I wouldn’t be the person I am had I not gone through what I did and what I may go through tomorrow, the next day and so on.

So far on my journey I’ve face a lot of struggles; watching close friends who are in the same career as you stop supporting you just to go support someone else, budgeting is key and always will be and that music is about 96% business and roughly 4% talent. With each struggle I’ve listed, I had to learn to lead with logic and not with my emotions. Each time!

It’s beautiful to be so passionate about the things that brings the best out of you. The day you take your God-given talents and yourself serious will be the beginning of God testing your patience, passion and mental in hopes of being ready for what he has in store for you. Those areas I’ve been tested. I’ve struggled. And I rised above it.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Singer, Song- Writer, Model and Actress. My specialty and what I am most known for is Singing and writing. I’m very proud of stepping outside my comfort zone, not allowing Anxiety to claim victory over my talents! My grace sets me Apart from others so far on my journey in the music industry. It doesn’t matter what I’m doing (acting, modeling, recording, singing, writing) I am 100% genuine and vibrant. And it shows always. Someone will comment on my Aura randomly like, “ I know I don’t know you but the way you performed you’re just so genuine it’s amazing” then I’m left speechless, smiling non stop because that the most beautiful thing to have noted about yourself in the entertainment realm!

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Look, if it wasn’t for my older sister, Lisa, all of my close friends and loved ones, my musical influence Jhene Aiko and my music manager, Deuce I wouldn’t be this strong person I am! So many times I’ve found myself discouraged, I’m my feelings, depressed and down because of constant spiraling down due to my mind being clouded by the,“what if’s”, finding myself in a dark place for a long time and these individuals were there for me spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally always there. Granted Jhene Aiko has helped me get through rough times with her music and has kept me focused on what I want out of life as well, but I still rose up and continued to go after what’s rightfully mine; a place in the industry.
