Rising Stars: Meet Aniya Glover

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aniya Glover.

Hi Aniya, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started doing nails around October of 2019! A friend of mine gave me her nail kit from beauty school and I started watching different YouTube videos for beginner nail techs! Fell in love. I had always admired doing nails. I grew up painting my friend’s and family’s nails n toes. It was always soothing to me. So, I figured I’d give it a try! At the time I was pretty much trying to find what my niche for entrepreneurship. I had a clutch collection and then started a hair boutique but they weren’t interesting enough to me. I couldn’t really express my creative impulses with those businesses. Once I started doing nails, I immediately fell in love! Starting out was rough, keep in mind am 100% self-taught! Once the pandemic hit in 2020 and nail salons were closed, My clientele skyrocketed and it increased my progress in the best ways! I was moving quicker, making mistakes, and learning all at the same time! The pandemic helped ALOT with my progress and helped me get as great as I am today! I started doing press on nails around February of 2021! I had multiple people asking about it so I invested and tried it out and loved it as well! That gave me more opportunities to explore my creativity!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t always been smooth. I was previously residing in fort valley ga, where all of my clientele consisted of college students and middle ga locals from surrounding cities. Once I relocated to back to Atlanta GA, it was hard getting the clientele that I was used to. It felt like I was starting all over. I eventually figured I’d get a job and start networking and putting myself out there with my nails. I pushed press-ons the most because they can be shipped! I was also located in my home for a while which was another reason I slowed down on promotion.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I do acrylic nail sets and make custom acrylic and non-acrylic press on nails! It’s an ART! You take a bare hand or press on nail and turn it into this beautiful piece of art! Nails are a sense of fashion! I’m well known for doing nails and making press-ons! I’m mostly proud of how far I’ve gotten in such a short amount of time. I’m also very proud of landing my new location! I’m now located in the Hair Inc Atlanta salon in Buckhead Atl. What sets me apart from other nail techs is my service, my timing and my nail stability!

What makes you happy?
What makes me most happy is when my current clients come to me after their first set with me and tell me how EVERYONE has been complimenting their nails! It makes them feel good and me feel great! I love making my clients feel good! That’s why we get our nails done!
