Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Lipson.
Hi Anna, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I have always been obsessed with love because of my parents’ love story and I wish I could have been there in that exact moment just to capture the memory of them meeting. That is when my love of capturing little moments with a camera began. I studied photography at The University of Alabama and never really thought about starting a business. When I graduated, I knew I wanted to do something creative so I went into graphic design at Middle Georgia State University. There is where I picked up a camera for the first time since I took my last photography class. I started teaching myself and brainstorming how I wanted my brand to look like. My love of photography began pouring out into my work the minute I scheduled my first couples shoot. My parents moved up to Marietta in March of 2020 and I love to travel back and forth from Macon to Atlanta as much as I can to capture magical love stories up and down I-75.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been the smoothest road but when I get to those checkpoints it is the most fulfilling feeling to see my small business grow into something truly amazing. Some of my struggles have been self-doubt and if I can actually get this business to a point where I can finally live doing what I love and have a stable income. Comparing myself to other photographers is something we all struggle with but I also have to remember to not compare my year 1 to someone’s year 5.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a Georgia Based Photographer known for my boho, golden, western-style photography. I specialize in weddings, couples, and grad/senior photography. I am mostly proud of how my business has grown within a year and a half. I have booked 4 weddings in 2021 and 10 in 2022. I think what sets me apart from the rest is my love for my clients. I tell my brides and even my grads that I am more than just your photographer, I am your support system and best friend throughout the planning process.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
My knowledge of marketing and social media tactics has helped build my business where it is today. Also, the amount of word-of-mouth clients I have booked has brought me so many amazing clients and such a strong support system. This all has helped me keep my spirits up when I feel down.
