Rising Stars: Meet Antoine Washington

Today we’d like to introduce you to Antoine Washington.

Antoine, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always had a passion for being creative and imaginative. Throughout the years, I’ve found much success within the fashion industry and perfecting the overall meaning of what it is to be original and daring. With this brand, I’m able to offer a platform not only for myself but for my peers as well. I’ve worked with both professional and beginner models with the production of my photoshoots and video shoots as well as having musical talents perform at different events.

Getting to where I am today has been through the connection of my fans and supporters. Over the years, we have created a loyal bond that has truly been incredible.

Tae Designz shares its mission: to continue to work with minority backgrounds and others while moving forward with creative visions. Throughout the United States and Worldwide, we will break standards and boundaries to achieve a continuous freedom of expression through the arts.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. As a young creator coming up, I knew more about being creative than I did the business side of it all. Throughout the years, I have always been driven by passion. Later after receiving a lot of attention and recognition for my creative work, I begin to read a lot more and organize and take full control.

I remember challenging myself to take my brand to NYC. I ended up flying there to ‘visit’ for a couple of weeks but knew I wasn’t leaving. No job or place to stay at that time until I met a couple of people there. It wasn’t until the 2nd day of realizing that I wanted to stay there that I landed a job in Manhattan. There I met someone from a different country every single day. They began to remind me why I was in NYC to begin with and that was to push my brand harder. I would personally hand-deliver every order that I received. My stay in NYC lasted nine months (traveling can be tough if unfamiliar with trains and signs) until it was back to ATL. There is where I began to build a strong connection with the people who began to support and help grow the brand.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a designer, producer and creative director who specializes in bringing my visions to life.

During the earlier years of branding, I stood out by filling a ‘lane’ that was lacking attention and that was expressing my creative visions with custom headwear. You’ll see Frankie J. Grande on the cover of XEX Magazine wearing a custom piece by yours truly as well as a one of a kind ‘Spiked Conical’ seen on the cover of DBQ Magazine worn by Dave Bridgeforth. Tae Designz has also been seen and worn by TV Personality Hazel E and De’Von Waller on the hit show ‘Marriage Bootcamp Hip Hop Edition’ on WEtv.

Being authentic and relatable with noteworthy creative direction and vision has allowed my company to remain solid.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Not here by luck or chance. However, hard work and dedication has played a major role in the overall success that I’ve had in the past as well as carrying on into my future.
