Rising Stars: Meet Antwione Saunders of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Antwione Saunders.

Hi Antwione , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m a 36 year old filmmaker and entrepreneur who grew up in Philadelphia, where creativity and hustle were a part of everyday life so much so that I have the word “Creativity” tattooed across my chest, a piece that always draws attention and speaks to who I am. My journey didn’t begin on big film sets or with a perfect roadmap. It started with a love for storytelling, music, and turning real experiences into something people can genuinely feel. For years I balanced full-time jobs while studying the craft, filming small projects, and learning every part of production, branding, and business from the ground up.

Eventually, I realized that staying comfortable in Philly meant staying the same. I wanted bigger opportunities, a stronger creative network, and room to grow as both a filmmaker and a businessman. That desire is what pushed me to move to Atlanta.

Coming to Atlanta was a reset. I didn’t have everything figured out, but I had the vision. I began building from scratch by developing short films, writing scripts, launching my skincare brand, and connecting with people who understood the grind. Atlanta gave me the space to grow both sides of who I am the storyteller and the entrepreneur.

Today, I’m creating and writing new short films and indie films to kick off 2026 strong, focusing on projects that speak to culture, emotion, and real life. At the same time, I’m building and scaling my skincare line, BAWD Skincare, into a lifestyle brand for bald men and clean-crown grooming. And alongside that, I’m developing a fitness brand that aligns with my personal journey of discipline, wellness, and rebuilding a brand built to inspire confidence, consistency, and self-care from the inside out named “Pain 2 Power”

Film, skincare, and fitness may seem like different lanes, but for me they all connect. They each allow me to create, inspire, and build something that lasts.

My story is really about betting on myself, reinventing my life in a new city, and using creativity to move from survival to purpose. I’m still evolving and still grinding, but every step is about building a future aligned with who I am and where I’m headed.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Moving to Atlanta meant starting completely over. I had to learn a new city, new people, new industry circles, and a whole new pace of life. On top of that, all my family and friends were back home in Philly, so I didn’t have a built in support system to lean on. That alone was an adjustment.

At the same time, I was working a full time job while trying to build my filmmaking career and grow my businesses. Balancing long work hours with writing scripts, producing content, creating products, and figuring out the business side of everything has been one of the biggest challenges. Some days it feels like I’m juggling three different worlds film, skincare, and entrepreneurship while still trying to stay grounded and focused.

But even through the obstacles, the setbacks, and the learning curves, I’ve stayed committed to the bigger vision. The struggle has taught me discipline, patience, and how to keep showing up even when the path isn’t easy.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a filmmaker, creative entrepreneur, who operates in a few different lanes but they all connect through storytelling, culture, and impact. My work centers around creating film projects and lifestyle brands that inspire confidence, authenticity, and self-expression.

On the film side, I write and produce short films and indie films that highlight real-life experiences, relationships, emotions, and cultural moments. I specialize in character driven stories with an urban, grounded energy the kind of films people can feel because they reflect real life. What I’m most proud of is that I’ve built everything from scratch which is my own scripts, my own concepts, my own production plans, my own creative lane. I’m not waiting for Hollywood; I’m building my own catalog and kicking off 2026 with multiple self produced projects.

On the business side, I’m the founder of BAWD Skincare, a grooming and lifestyle brand designed for bald men and clean-crown culture. I create pad-based scalp and face care products that offer real results and a premium experience. What sets my brand apart is that I’m not just selling products I’m building a community, a culture, and an identity for bald men who take pride in their look. Every product is handcrafted, researched, formulated, and packaged with intention.

I’m also developing a fitness brand that aligns with my journey of discipline and self-improvement combining wellness, lifestyle, and confidence-building into a movement, not just merchandise.

What sets me apart from others is my ability to operate at the intersection of creativity and entrepreneurship. I’m one of the people who genuinely does the work, writing, producing, building brands, learning business, studying marketing, and putting in the hours while still working full-time. I’m driven by consistency and the belief that you can build your own opportunities instead of waiting for them.

I’m most proud of staying committed even when the road has been difficult, and of building a life and career in Atlanta purely from vision, grind, and creativity. Everything I create whether it’s a film, a skincare product, or content comes from a real place and represents growth, purpose, and discipline.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was always a creative kid with a big imagination. I loved movies, TV shows, sports, and music anything that told a story or made me feel something. I was the type to get lost in films, memorize scenes, analyze characters, and try to figure out how everything was put together. That’s really where my passion for storytelling started.

At the same time, I’ve always had an entrepreneurial mindset. Even in high school, I had a natural drive to hustle and create my own opportunities. Some of the things I was involved in back then weren’t the most legal or the most structured but the mindset behind it was real and I understood early that when you build your own business, your income and your future aren’t capped. You create your own lane and your own path.

That mix of creativity and hustle has always been a part of me. It shaped the way I think, the way I work, and the way I approach every project today. Looking back, those early interests and experiences were the foundation for everything I’m doing now which is filmmaking, entrepreneurship, branding, and building something that represents who I am.
