Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not! This entertainment business can be very difficult. There is a lot of no’s and rejections as well as it being hard to find the right team. I’ve had many agents and managers that just didn’t see the vision or fight for me. Not feeling seen or heard. Struggling with depression or wanting to give up. But you just have to stay patient, trust the timing and keep persevering thru it all.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an actor. I grew up doing theater but I’ve been specializing mainly in tv/film for the last 10 years. I’m most proud of being in the hit BET + show The Family Business playing the role of Rio Duncan. I’ve been apart of the show since the very beginning. I believe I have such a passion and light that sets me apart from others. Being authentically me as really helped. I believe it’s working now.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
It’s all about who you know in this business and who knows you. Get in class, study, surround yourself with people that you admire where they are and also people that believe in you and will always keep it real and have your back. No “yes people.” And just keep putting yourself out there. No one will fight for you like yourself.
