Rising Stars: Meet Ashlee Holness of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashlee Holness.

Hi Ashlee, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I can say I am not where I want to be , but I am embracing the journey.
It started from childhood – I was always super talkative , creative, active, and the life of the party.
Back then content creators were not such a big thing as they are today.

I always stayed true to myself, posting my hobbies like collecting shoes, traveling, cooking , and being me.
Doing so, created chatter amongst the people around me, like people saying Ashlee how did you get those shoes, you’re always on vacation, can you make me this dish, can you edit this video for me.
I became the person people could ask and depend on. I always provided my services when asked being a helping hand.
Friends and family asked on a daily basis – why don’t you go for it, you’re well liked, you’re talented, you are literally made for this.
So I started posting more , providing guidance on how to cop shoes, how to plan vacations, documenting my life and hobbies making my name a business. Doing so, opened many opportunities for me to collab with brands, attend events, connect with creatives.
I started officially providing my food services for catering and meal preps. . I started streaming on video games on twitch and posting more on social media. Volunteering my services for nonprofit organizations dear to my heart for social media managing and creation. I work with businesses like Aspirational Allies Counseling Services – Made by Miazia, LLC , nonprofits like The Hannah Green Foundation, and The Austin Tyler Foundation. Most recently appearing on The 1Dripaholics podcast.
I give tips on fashion, hair care, and vacation planning.

Being myself has shown me – people love you for you. Continue pouring into your community – pouring into yourself and everything else will fall into place.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I can say COVID was a huge challenge for me mentally. Being an overly active and outgoing person being suck in the house made me lose focus on some of my passions. The same cycle of working Mon- Fri, in the house all weekend due to COVID restrictions got tiring. My support system encouraged me to remember where I came from and to keep going , don’t let this storm break you.

No path is smooth but putting my faith in God and having a strong strong village my friends and family pushed me to keep going.

My advice I always tell people is post , post if it gets 1 like or 10,000 likes – put the content out there. People are watching , they may not interact, but your content is inspiring someone out there. Keep pushing , keep being yourself, and everything else will fall into place. This same mindset got me opportunities from ATL all the way to London. A creative and designer PortermadeIt has a saying “life is limitless” and I keep this in my mind daily.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Specializations
– Social Media Management (social media manager, editor, director)
– Content Creation (fashion, travel, hair, cooking, sneakers, gaming)
– Cooking
– Natural Hair Care
– Traveling / Experiences

I create content like travel videos , cooking/recipes, sneaker pickups, fashion , and to-do’s in cities.

I am known for being myself, being a multi-faceted person. You can come to my page and find travel advice, latest sneaker releases, new restaurants, product reviews, and hair tutorials. There is something for everyone!

What am I most proud of?
The impact I have made to date. Even if it means encouraging someone to get a passport, to wear their natural curls, to try a new recipe, post more content. Content reaches different cities and countries around the world, remember you inspire someone!

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up I was very outgoing , energetic , and talkative. I always stayed busy playing sports, volunteering, or picking up different hobbies. It always seemed to be media related or computer related. I would do funny things like “like this post for an edited photo of you” back in the day on Facebook. Taking time to learn how to edit photos and videos. I always took pictures and videos to post on the gram. Not thinking anything of it turning a hobby into a passion.

Sneakers have always been a passion for me as well. Once I started working a job in high school my checks would go to the latest shoe releases. My sneaker collection has shoes from my middle school days. Sneakers tell stories and have history. The passion grew more in college and especially during COVID, I started watching sneaker YouTubers like Roszko who helped not keep me bored during the pandemic. Me watching sneaker live cops, turned into me becoming a moderator, going to sneaker events, announcing sneaker releases, being a cohost to a sneaker podcast and more. Sneakers connects so many people all around the world. It’s truly a family , I am glad I have.

In high school I’d bake muffins , make Oreo bon bons, bring plates of dinner made the night before. I always loved cooking as well. To me I show my love in actions. If I cook for you , that means a lot. This stuck with me in college at Valdosta State I’d have Sunday dinners at my house for my friends and classmates to enjoy a home cooked meal away from home. I never thought of it as a business , just doing it out the kindness of my heart.
