Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Babbitt.
Hi Ashley, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello everyone! Ashley Babbitt here, and I would like to introduce myself.
As a starting point, I would like to share some background information about me on how I overcame obstacles which lead to starting my own business.
I had been living on my own since late high school. It was being on my own that taught me how to appreciate the sacrifices and experiences that would prepare me, however, in all honesty, I wasn’t prepared for what I was about to face.
Working full-time and attending school full-time, I wanted to pursue a career in forensics and criminal justice. In addition, I was fascinated by human psychology and the pursuit of understanding how the mind worked, and figuring out who I was after experiencing all the trauma I faced.
In so many different ways, I have been verbally, sexually, physically, and emotionally abused which gave me the drive and motivation to take a step back to understand who I am and how what I have experienced has shaped me to be who I am today in servicing others.
The feeling of being a part of something bigger has always been a want . . I mean, doesn’t everyone want to eventually feel a sense of fulfillment or love, or that they belong to something?
I had a difficult path, I think we all have a story to tell, a journey to travel, but what you do with that story and how you use it to service others shapes results, and that is my purpose, my fulfillment.
Since I had suffered a traumatizing past that paralyzed my life, I wanted to help others since I did not want anyone else to go through what I had. However, I always knew my circumstances were not as adverse as anyone else’s, so I persevered through college.
During college, I met someone who led to my first pregnancy, which was an amazing blessing. In that moment of my life, I found myself at a crossroads and had to decide whether I would pursue a college education or take care of my child. The decision was easy at that point in my life. I wanted to take care of my child. I was proud, I had a sense of love, and I had a feeling of self-worth. During that time in my life, I felt like it was possible for me to break out of my shell and become something important and make a difference in the world. That was my calling, that was my purpose, and that was when I realized being a mother and being able to look at my child’s eyes with gratitude was my greatest accomplishment.
My relationship didn’t work out, I was working a full-time job, living paycheck to paycheck, and I wasn’t able to finish my education. So many times, I sat there and wondered, what can I do to make a change? Why am I stuck? Why are these things happening to me? It is likely that every single one of us has experienced those emotions which led to a destructive path. After three years of marriage and having my second child, we divorced. Getting divorced is no joke and I won’t bore you with all the details, but you have no idea how hard and dark my life was as a result. I went from a six figure income to paycheck to paycheck with two kids and an absence of degrees.
Even though I may not have the qualifications or degrees that I wish to obtain, I gained so much experience hands-on, faced the darkness, and learned that the darkness is where all these great skills can be found. In light of everything that I have been through I’ve had that aha moment where I needed to make a change for my children but most importantly for me. If you don’t feel well mentally and physically then you will be putting out negative energy and that’s exactly what you’ll receive back. After many years of living paycheck to paycheck, which was a hard lesson for me to learn, I was done being on the hamster wheel of life. This is not what I wanted for my children, my family, friends, and anyone that I could serve.
My current job involves two things I’m very proud of! Every morning, I am energized to know I can persevere in my commitment to serve others. Instead of partying and sleeping when everyone else was, I studied, read books, and thought about what I was doing in my spare time that wasn’t helping me grow, that wasn’t adding value to my life that I could invest in myself. When that moment came, I had to think about myself and think about what I could do to remain positive and consistent.
In the second step, I looked at how I could physically exhilarate my body. Establishing a habit of discipline and self-investment helped lead to happiness. The ultimate fulfillment of serving for me is being happy mentally, physically, and spiritually.
In a nutshell, I used my strengths , and past experiences so I could serve others, and make a difference in their lives.
What gives me drive, and hunger is by speaking with people daily. My meetings are endless but I genuinely enjoy them and prefer video chats where I can see a person. I like discovering how issues impact people professionally, their family, and overall goals. I like to ask what prevents people from accomplishing their goals, and discovering the root cause to help identify and fill the gap. My time spent with you is a valuable organic investment.
In summary, my past experiences have shaped me into the person I am today and what is most important to me as a business owner is it’s not about me, it’s about us. Let’s not just vibe, let’s THRIVE!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the biggest takeaways from my experiences has been that complacency is where downfalls occur. Absence of discomfort indicates that I am not developing, which is the definition of insanity. In the end, it is me versus me. My biggest challenge professionally was not getting complacent, and leveraging the resources at my disposal. In my experience, many people are extremely successful at first then plateau and become inconsistent, resulting in failure. Having that happen to me more than once has been awful!
Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you feel stuck, use the resources available to you, invest in yourself every day, and read a book instead of scrolling through social media. Remember, if it doesn’t add value to you, get rid of it! As a business owner, develop a habit, practice discipline, and invest in yourself so you can maintain your drive and hunger. I challenge you to leverage resources at your disposal, and most importantly, take the damn time to invest in yourself!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Through social media platforms, I specialize in promoting brands.
In my experience, the most important factor is that if you cannot obtain a client, you will obtain a friend. It is a win-win situation for both parties. Therefore, referrals are made and new opportunities are presented.
Authenticity comes from being yourself! Take the risk of stepping outside the box you have confined yourself in because of your preconceived notions of what society requires.
The freedom to be persuasive, goofy, and true to myself has finally arrived! Together, let’s explore your goals and how they impact you professionally and emotionally. To these questions, I can provide you with an answer. There you have it! That’s how organic deals are closed!
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Don’t be shy, get in touch! Let’s Talk about how/what issues you’re facing and the impact it has to clients and yourself. I’m looking forward to serving you, and to bring a better overall experience.
