Today we’d like to introduce you to Astro McCoy.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I had just moved in with a friend & found myself in a depressive state of mind. Everything was going wrong until one day I went to help my sister with one of her cooking events. At the event I seen someone interviewing the host & when I seen his equipment something inside me said that’s what I need to do. So I saved money & invested in some camera equipment & ever since then everything has just been opening up for me
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been a lot of struggles. Getting clients for starters, getting the equipment, transportation, learning all the ins & outs. I’m still learning to this day about everything you need to know/have when it comes to photography & videography. The process hasn’t been smooth but that’s the beauty of it.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I do video & photoshoots. I don’t technically specialize in anything because I try to do everything. I started doing everything by myself from learning how to get the right exposure and angle for you shoots to learning how to edit & create videos or get the right look for your photos. I’m most proud of where I started, especially with me doing everything by myself & having no help or anyone to guide me through the process. I feel like my quality work is a lot better than what it should be & giving I have way more room to grow & I think that’s also what sets me apart from others.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I would say luck has played a part in my life. I can’t necessarily say big or small but I know I have ran into some good & bad luck lol but all of it has gotten me to this point so I can’t complain.
