Today we’d like to introduce you to Barrington Marson.
Hi Barrington, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I am originally from Jamaica, Queens, NY. I was raised on the Southside of Riverdale, GA. In 2005, I decided to pursue a career in Filmmaking. Growing up, I’ve always had a big imagination by watching movies like Star Wars, Batman, ET, etc. It definitely made me believe that anything is possible. Movies have also play a big role in my life with the impact they can bring. In 2009, I graduated from American Intercontinental University with a Degree in Media Production (BFA). From there, I continued to write and direct several short films over the years. Over the years, I have ventured into other platforms like music videos, commercials, documentary films, weddings, and more. I believe it’s important to be versatile in this business and never limit yourself, but also stay true to your dream.
Over the years, I have Written, Produced, and Directed a dozen of projects from Films, music videos, commercials, and so much more! I currently have my feature film Streaming on platforms like TUBI, Prime Video, and AppleTV called “ABIDING.”
My production company works with several producers in Atlanta to bring their TV pilot, sizzle reel trailer, short film, and so much more to life. We are a company that loves what we do and make sure the client is happy at the end of the day. We currently have a commercial that will be airing on TV in 2024 Summer that we are super excited about! Our goal is to be one of the tops go-to production companies in Atlanta, GA, to deliver clients’ stories to life! Our team is continuously growing, and we look forward to the years to come. Barrington Marson Productions’ next big goal is to open our first Production Studio Rental for clients in the years to come.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In any career, you will have obstacles, but that’s part of life, especially being a filmmaker and Business owner. You have to keep in mind that “What can go wrong will go wrong.” Throughout the years, I have been Blessed with an amazing production crew, which I call family today. Being a filmmaker and Producer, I think most would say the biggest Obstacles are getting a budget for your projects and getting the right people to see your vision through.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m an Atlanta, GA-based filmmaker & producer. Owner of BARRINGTON MARSON Productions, which we are a one-stop production company that films projects for clients throughout Georgia. We specialize in Music videos, films, commercials, events, and so much more.
A proud moment for me is having 3 sold-out screenings for my film “ABIDING,” which is now streaming on Tubi, AppleTV, and Primevideo.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matter most to me is first and foremost Yahweh (God) without him I would be lost. He has definitely strengthened me during some hard times in my life, and he always kept me on the right track when it comes to my craft in film productions.
