Rising Stars: Meet BreyAna Rene

Today we’d like to introduce you to BreyAna Rene.

Hi BreyAna, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My photography journey started when my life fell apart. In 2021 I gained four amazing angels, one of them being my oldest brother, Corey and the first being my stepdad. I was at the lowest part of my life and honestly didn’t want to go on. I found my strength when I took my first picture, a butterfly landing on a flower. It was the lightest I had felt in a long time and I knew right then and there this was what I was supposed to do. Photography is more than just taking pretty pictures for me, it’s a form of therapy and without it, I don’t know what I would do. It calms me and that is how I made it out of my darkest times. Holding a camera saved my life.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Yes of course there were challenges. The very first challenge I faced was myself. I didn’t want to step out on faith and use the talent God blessed me with because I was afraid. Afraid of what my peers would say, afraid of failing, afraid of not being good enough; but I realized that I was doing myself a disservice if I didn’t just do it. My second challenge was doing it. The day after my second angel passed, my stepdad, I made up my mind that I was doing being stressed out at my job and not being happy. So the week after his memorial, I quit my job and bought my camera. I knew that he was proud of me because he always wanted us to be happy and walk in our truth. I haven’t looked back since.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I own BreyAna Rene Photography & Boudoir by BreyAna Rene. I am a photographer based out of Atlanta, GA. I specialize in Boudoir, which is bringing women or men out of their shells. Everyone wants to feel beautiful, wanted, handsome, sexy, and unforgettable. I help bring that out of you, but mostly it’s my clients who bring it out of themselves, I’m just there to capture it lol. I’m honestly most proud of my clients because when I see the joy on their faces after a session or they tell me how beautiful they look it makes it all worth it. As far as what sets me apart, I’m not sure how to answer that. I’m still growing and learning. I learn something new every single day when it comes to my business. I don’t ever want to feel like I know more than what I do. My clients are my teachers and I thank them for teaching me how to bring beauty out of them.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Keeping it real, being transparent and knowing that there will be bumps in the road. Also being open to criticism. I love hearing feedback on what I could do better or critiques from fellow photographers. Success is what you make it, and if you don’t take that leap of faith you’re going to still be in the same spot.
