Today we’d like to introduce you to Bridgette Bentley.
Hi Bridgette, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My story started as a rambunctious child who loved to do gymnastics, dance and acting in school and church plays! Never thought I could make a living at it, so I pursued criminal justice as a police officer after college. Someone hit my vehicle on duty early on out of the academy so my life changed and I became a Delta flight attendant. I started to pursue acting and stunt work on the side and have been doing it ever since. I love being an entertainer!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It’s been very challenging. Mostly just a struggle to be seen and taken seriously. I’ve always trained and taken classes in acting, improv, stunts, martial arts, dance, voiceover, you name it…but was a full three years of training and spending money before I booked my first real gig on a SAG show. I’m forever grateful. But even now, it’s still a challenge to book more acting roles. I alleviated that by widening my skill set and writing my own scripts. I’ve filmed 6 shorts to date and working on a feature-length as we speak! The future looks bright:)
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an actress, professional stunt woman, model and writer. What sets me apart is my persistence! I never give up and I train daily. I go out and do my best even when things aren’t going right. Such as losing my pet recently, it was quite devastating. But someone called for a stunt role and I was instantly available. We have to keep pushing.
I also like to make friends and incorporate those friends in small projects I have. I’ve never seen this as a competition, but more as an effort to get more people to see me, my talents…and to know that I am available!
I’m known for, and most proud of being lead actress in a few films on Tubi, such as Keeping Secrets and Fated Reunion (done by AboutFace Media). I love being a new character and getting into a role, it’s so fun. I’m also proud of small stunt acting roles in major blockbusters like Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever, Murder Mystery 2, and Shazam Part 2 all out this month!
Lastly, I’m proud of writing and producing my own films, such as The Mission- which won me best actress in the Urban International Action Film Festival…and other films like La Oasis, Foreshadowing and Power Rangers: Resurgence, in which I played Rita Repulsa! (A kid favorite lol). You can find these films on my Facebook and Instagram profiles.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I love metal and rock music! Some friends know but most people are probably unaware of that. I can cook, I love to swim, scuba dive, and be in water. I’m obsessed with reading and have close to a thousand books, I just love to learn.
