Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Stephens.
Victoria, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Located in Fayetteville, Ga just minutes away from the airport, a mother and her two daughters decided to open an event space. Although the Pandemic was almost towards the end, the three Atlanta-based women thought it would be a great idea to launch this business knowing that soon people wanted to get back out of the house and celebrate each other. Teresa, the mother and part owner was newly retired from 34 years in corporate America and needed something to put her time and energy towards that would also bring in income. Victoria, the youngest daughter and part owner, was eager to help with having a strong background in business and entrepreneurship. The oldest daughter Janiece brought in her talents for catering with a culinary degree and private chef background. From the first opening event in September of 2021, Belle South Event Space has been booked out most weekends and are grateful to serve their local community.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting the company was a blessing and not many challenges were faced. The one obstacle that came about early was to decide on a price point for events while doing the research on the competition in the area but also being fair to the customers. Knowing that we provided a nice spacious and elegant venue, our priority was to make sure each guest had a memorable experience with their event at an affordable price.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Belle South Event Space is a 2800 square ft elegant event venue that holds up to 100 guests. We provide the venue, tables, chairs and linen as well as a kitchenette area for the catering services. We are known for hosting intimate events such as baby showers, birthday gatherings, repass services, corporate events as well as intimate wedding ceremonies.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
One lesson learned quickly was that no one event is the same. You have to tailor to the needs of each client. From decor, decorations and theme of event, every moment is unique. Knowing this information early on has helped with the success of Belle. Customer service being number one insuring all guests are happy in their special day as well as their guests with accommodating the needs of all.
