Rising Stars: Meet Catyia Cable of Marietta, GA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Catyia Cable.

Hi Catyia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hello, my name is Catyia Cable. I’m 26 years old and born and raised in Orange County, California. After high school, my family and I moved to Woodstock, Georgia, and I’ve been here ever since. When I first got to Georgia, I didn’t know anyone and had a lot of free time, so I picked up baking as a hobby and ended up falling in love with it.

I went to college, started working at Kennestone Hospital as an X-ray tech, and later moved up to CT. During holiday potlucks at work, I’d bring my cake pops, and before long, people were always asking me to bring them. Friends, coworkers, and family started saying things like “You should sell these!” and “Can you make some for my party?” They were a fan favorite!

With help from my best friend Ali, we came up with a name and a logo. We started a little Facebook page to get things going and now added an Instagram account. My sister is the one who has helped this business blossom. She handles all the social media and makes sure people know where to find me.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been a pretty smooth ride, and I’ve learned so much along the way, like how to price my work and how much I can handle so I don’t spread myself too thin. I got married in 2022 and moved to Marietta, Georgia with my husband, and in 2023 we had our sweet baby boy. I started Cake Pop Cat in 2024, so it was definitely a wild time trying to figure out how to run everything while also being a first-time mom and finishing my bachelor’s degree online. Honestly, I couldn’t have done it without my amazing husband, he’s been such a huge help and support through it all.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m known for my cake pops, they’re my specialty and I love decorating them to fit any occasion or theme. People also rave about my cheesecake shooters (they always get compliments!). I also make cookie cakes, cupcakes, and all kinds of dipped treats too. My most popular option? My party packages! They come with a little bit of everything.

What makes my treats extra special is the attention to detail. I’m all about cute designs and making sure everything fits the theme just right. I also love trying new things. If you have something in mind that’s not on the menu, I’m always up for the challenge!

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I’ve noticed the treat-making world is really growing, and it makes sense, people love ordering from small home bakeries because there’s something extra special about it. Every order feels personal and made with love. Whether it’s a custom treat table for a party or a sweet surprise to show someone you care, these little desserts go a long way in making someone’s day.
