Today we’d like to introduce you to Chané Bolden.
Hi Chané, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started The ChanéXperience after earning my Master’s degree in Arts Administration from SCAD. Art and design have always been an essential part of who I am, and I wanted to make my work accessible to everyone—not just those who frequent galleries. Through my practice, I’ve focused on creating events and collaborations that bring communities together, allowing people to experience, connect with, and collect original art in meaningful ways.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s definitely been a journey of discovery—learning what works, what doesn’t, and finding balance through it all. I’ve faced creative blocks, shifting seasons of life, and the constant evolution that comes with being both an artist and entrepreneur. Each challenge has pushed me to grow, refine my process, and stay connected to my purpose. Over time, I’ve learned to trust my vision, stay adaptable, and embrace every part of the journey as part of the art itself.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My work is a reflection of life—each piece carries a story meant to inspire, bring peace, and spark connection in those who experience it. I work primarily with acrylics, gold leaf, resin, oils, and colored pencils, creating portraits, abstracts, and surreal compositions that merge reality with imagination.
Much of my art explores themes of growth, faith, motherhood, and transformation, drawing inspiration from nature, culture, and everyday experiences. I’m most proud of how my work resonates with others—how people find a sense of calm, reflection, or empowerment through my paintings.
What sets me apart is my ability to blend fine art with emotional storytelling. My goal isn’t just to create something beautiful, but to design art that transforms spaces and speaks to the soul.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My advice would be to stay true to who you are and trust your vision, even when things feel uncertain. Be consistent, keep creating, and do it anyway—especially on the days when doubt creeps in. Don’t overthink the process; just start, learn, and grow. Surround yourself with people who inspire you, challenge you, and share your drive to evolve. Growth happens in community and through persistence.
