Today we’d like to introduce you to Chase Richardson.
Hi Chase, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Chase “chasubii” Richardson and I’m 15 years old. I’ve been making music since I was 10, and honestly, it all started in a really simple way just me, a few friends, and a love for creating something unique.
I started on BandLab, making beats and recording vocals with some of my friends I met on Discord and Roblox. We weren’t trying to be famous or even thinking about careers back then. We were just having fun, experimenting with sounds, sharing ideas, and learning from each other. I didn’t have any professional equipment just a phone, some headphones, and a whole lot of passion, still to this day I don’t use any professional studio equipment. I just enjoy the outcome of what I create, with what I use. I recently added FL Studios to my arsenal of production software tools.
Over time, I got better. I taught myself how to mix, how to produce, how to structure a song, and how to make something sound like more than just noise. I studied music in my own way not in a classroom, but by listening, watching tutorials, learning from my favorite artists coming out the underground like, Che, OsamaSon, Protect and messing up a lot until I got it right.
Now I’ve produced and engineered over 100 songs. I’m the CEO of my own independent record label, 3RX Entertainment, and I’ve signed other artists and creators to help build a community around the sound and vision I believe in. I also do sound engineering at my church, which keeps me grounded and reminds me where I started.
My journey is just beginning, but I’m proud of how far I’ve come. From BandLab and Roblox chats to real mixing boards, music videos, and my own label this is more than a hobby now. This is what I do.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Overall, it has been a smooth road. I’m just getting started so I haven’t really experienced anything besides writers block. One day I’ll have a idea and I’ll try to apply it into BandLab or whatever I’m recording on that day and it would probably not sound as good as I envisioned it in my head, or i’ll just have an off day and not make the best song. Then there’s days where I can make 3 songs I liked. It’s just the beginning but I’m sure the road will get bumpier and God will be with me through it all.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a songwriter, producer, engineer, and record label CEO. We specialize in artist development, we are all just upcoming artists trying to make a name for ourselves and be the best in our categories. I am most proud of finding something I love and making it my career. What sets me apart from others is that I don’t just have one talent, no hard feelings but most artists nowadays can only get on a track and lay vocals and lyrics on it, I can do that, produce and engineer on a track.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Many people may disagree, but Discord is really a big help in what I do. You just have to know how to build a community and reach the right people to get into your community. I met most of the artists and producers I work with on Discord. My community on there is pretty large and they support what I do. I will forever love them and never forget the amount of love they gave me when I first started.
