Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsea Thompson
Hi Chelsea, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Chelsea is a content creator that began back in 2011 as a blogger. As social media management began to grow she saw the opportunity and decided to launch into the world of content creation and media management in 2019. Chelsea has a background in business and worked for Chick-fil-A, Inc. in Atlanta before making the decision to leave the corporate world for a while to be at home with her three children and to spend more time on her own business. Chelsea is married to her husband of 14 years, Josh, and has 3 beautiful children whom she homeschools. In her free time she loves to spend time at the lake, read, travel and go on adventures with her friends and family.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The world of media marketing is always changing. Just when you think you have it all figured out the algorithms change. Part of what keeps it interesting to Chelsea is that in order to be successful you have to always be growing and learning. As a life long learner Chelsea loves that this business is always growing and changes and that in order to be successful she is constantly and growing and learning with the industry.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Chelsea works with businesses all over to help promote products, activities, and family friendly travel. As the homeschool mom of 3 with a passion for entrepreneurship and experiential learning with a background in LEAN principles and consulting Chelsea brings an unique perspective to her work and loves to inspire other families to get out and have fun together. She is must proud of her family and her faith and loves that her business gives her an opportunity to encourage other moms in the “weeds” of motherhood.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Chelsea believes a key to success in life is finding a mentor that can help you grow, learn and develop. Throughout her career Chelsea has been honored to have many mentors that have helped shape her into the leader and business woman that she is today. From leaders at Chick-fil-A to other creators in the media marketing space, to moms who have successfully raised their children, finding someone who can provide wisdom, encouragement, and advise is critical if you want to grow. When looking for a mentor Chelsea recommends finding someone whose reputation you look up to…someone who is enough ahead of where you are that they can provide guidance and wisdom but no so far ahead that are removed from your stage of work and life. Once you find someone start by writing them a letter including some of the reasons you look up to them and what you are hoping to get out of our mentorship. Chelsea recommends setting both long term and short term goals that you both agree to as far as the mentorship and making sure you let your mentor know what they can get out of the mentorship.
