Today we’d like to introduce you to CJ Trowers.
Hi CJ, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was on dialysis for five and a half years due to high blood pressure. I made a promise to God if he gave me a kidney, that I would pursue my dream as a comedian. I got my transplant in December 2012, got adjusted to my new life, and started comedy in May 2016. God fulfilled his end of the bargain, so I had to fulfill mine. I have been doing comedy ever since….
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Comedy has its challenges like anything else but when it’s truly your passion, it’s all worth it. It’s one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done, especially since I’m an introvert, and get anxiety speaking in front of people. But something about that sound of laughter from a room of people, that makes me realize this is what I was meant to do.

I’m a stand-up Comedian and I’m a host of a podcast as well called MISFITS OF COMEDY.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love the rich historical culture and restaurants of Atlanta. I definitely don’t like without a doubt….all the traffic in Atlanta.
