Today we’d like to introduce you to Claire Robinson
Hi Claire, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am an equestrian lifestyle content creator in addition to my full-time career in private-equity. When the pursuit of the equestrian sport of eventing became cost inhibitive as a full-time rider, I began a career in accounting and slowly began moving up the corporate ladder. I viewed my career choices as the foundation to allow me to continue my competition dreams in eventing. The equestrian content I create came naturally . I’m able to share with my followers the progression from post-grad to adulthood as an aspiring athlete and full-time 9-5 adult.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all!
Equestrian Sports are not easily accessibly due to financial constraints of horses, competitions, training. In my first few years post-grad I was living month to month to fund my sporting endeavors despite having a well-established job. Watching my peers progress in this social lives, get married, buy homes while I pursued this sport was hard.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
At this point in my career I have several internationally ranked competitions on my resume, and incredible horse I am now trying to syndicate, and an exciting 2025 competition calendar planned. As exciting and aspriational as I am for the levels we hope to progress to, I am now in a place to enjoy the journey as much as the destination. Competing makes your resiliant. One week you are winning and the next week you are rushing a horse to the vet and out 6-months. The financial constraints will likely always be a part of my path, but I’ve made it work and continue to pursue my professional career and content creating to subsidize the costs. Additionally, I’m in the process of creating a syndicate to gather potential owners to take part in this adventure to. This will allow horse-lovers or lovers of the sport of eventing to take part at a fraction of the cost but have the ability to say “I own an event horse”
