Today we’d like to introduce you to Clare Stuber.
Hi Clare, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Originally from Chicago, I’ve been in Atlanta working as a director, producer, and writer in the film industry here for the last 8 years. After moving in 2015, I began shooting film photography for fun while trying to find my footing, and eventually pivoted into film full-time when my partner and I started our production company ACHOO STUDIOS.
Since then, my experience has primarily been running a wide range of sets including commercial, television, music video, short film, and feature length productions. Most recently, I was thrilled to attend Sundance 2025 for my work on Kaitlyn Mikayla’s film RAGAMUFFIN and Fantasia Fest 2025 for my work on William Bagley’s HOLD THE FORT. I also produced the micro-short AN EFFICIENT USER EXPERIENCE from Atlanta-based creative team RunnerRunner, which just won the Kodak 100 Ft of Film project Film Jury Selection Award.
My academic background in creative writing and Masters Degree in gender studies kind of set me up to go PhD track, but I’ve always been passionate about visual world building and fleshing out unreal situations rooted in very real and complex human emotions. So I guess that’s how I ended up here? Regardless, working with like-minded and seasoned filmmakers has allowed me a unique skill set to branch out and direct my own projects. I’ve also been fortunate enough to be surrounded by an encouraging community of industry professionals and friends who are committed to bringing robust and original stories to the screen.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have been so many! Lately, I think it’s been challenging to put myself and what I love and want to do first – whether this applies to creative/professional work or just going to sleep at a reasonable time.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
