Rising Stars: Meet Crave

Today we’d like to introduce you to Crave.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started as a creative individual who wore colorful hair and had a unique sense of style, someone who always looked out of the norm compared to my peers. I thought I wanted to be a hairstylist but quickly found that I enjoyed doing makeup much more. I would practice on myself every, I started practicing on my family and friends and from there I upgraded to taking actual clients. It’s been so long since I first picked up a brush and all these years later I’m still so deeply in love with being a makeup artist. Word of mouth has played a huge part in getting me where I am today. Outside of that, my networking and people skills have also provided me with an amazing clientele that I love.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not, but what is? It’s definitely not for the weak it’s been a long and hard road however my passion always overpowers any obstacle(s) I’m faced with. From not getting the booking I really wanted or losing clients it’s not the easiest thing to go through. I will say I embrace every obstacle and I make it a priority to see the lesson in it & to just learn so I’m better for the next time.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a professional and celebrity makeup artist & creative director. I specialize in soft/natural glam & tv glam. I’m still very versatile with my artistry and I’m grateful for that. I’m most proud of my resilience in such a complex industry and my desire to be great, I’m proud to be sharing my story & being recognized in this creative & entrepreneurial space. I think what sets me apart outside of my talent is my aura, the genuine vibe my clients get to experience when working with me. I exude passion & you can feel it the second you sit in my chair.

What makes you happy?
Doing makeup makes me happy, cooking, traveling, being unapologetic and myself makes me happy. It promotes healthy environments for me and amazing energy. Being in such an intimate space with clients it’s so important to be in a happy place and in a great mood.
