Rising Stars: Meet Crystal Martin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Martin.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hi there, happy to share some of my  herstory with you. Listen I started playing drums when I was 13. I embraced the opportunity to play the drums when the drummer didn’t show up to play drums at church on a Sunday night at Back To The Bible Holiness Church. Practicing everyday, and playing church services helped me to grow as a drummer. Which sooner than later brought me opportunity to drum for an international gospel artist name B Chase Williams, and International Stage Play’s and local community choir’s. By the time I was 17 I was taking off.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Well it has been a entertaining path for me. I promise there is never a dull moment. I must say that I except the good and the bad. Or what ever that is even. I feel that anyone that goes after their dreams/passion will find trying time it apart if life maybe. These days I’m just flowing and enjoying the right now.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a Drummer first, Music Producer, Music Director, Songwriter, Musician, leader Composer, Female Drummer of the SOS BAND. And I have been with them for over 10 years. I specialize in Rhythm’s, and in that I am Queen. I have a new project I’m getting ready to release so y’all look out for that.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
JUST DO IT
