Rising Stars: Meet Curlese Benson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Curlese Benson.

Hi Curlese, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My voyage to Atlanta began after I graduated with my Bachelors of Art in English and History from Jacksonville State University, which is also where I also earned my Master of Science in Criminal Justice Administration. Unbeknownst to me, I did not quite have explicit plans on what I wanted to do with my life. However, I knew I aspired to be successful, serve others, and live well. My transition to Atlanta compelled me to learn my strength and overcome too many obstacles to name.

My career tract in Atlanta truly commenced when I landed a job in banking for one of the nation’s leading financial institutions. Working in banking exposed me to financial literacy at a high level, assisted in establishing powerful connections with prominent figures, and taught me how to excel in a competitive sales-driven environment. During my time in banking, I would often asking my investment clients, “How did you get so wealthy?” Their responses, “Real estate investments and education.” Those answered never changed no matter which wealthy clients I asked. My clients’ responses compelled me to work smarter to put myself in a position to invest.

Those convos activated me to push myself.

I worked at the bank and traveled providing makeup services both in GA, FL, TN, and AL. As life and aspirations began to change, my passion for makeup changed. Life as I knew it would change when I was offered a high school teaching position. Serving as an educator was the missing link that made my life come full circle. Through teaching, I amassed a wealth of knowledge regarding the direct impact schools have on the real estate industry and the economy.

My voyage to real estate began as a by product of my professional tract and the commitment I made to myself after college to be successful, serve others, and live well.

Real estate is an extremely rewarding profession being that I am endowed with assisting people with some of the biggest purchases of their lives.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey to becoming a Realtor has not been a smooth road. It came with extensive studying, sacrificing time with friends and family, fear of failure, and overall stepping out of my comfort zone. Studying to become a Realtor required me to adhere to a strict study schedule which meant that there were times my friends were “outside” and I had to be focused on the goal I set for myself. Thankfully, my friends understood and supported me. Fear of failure is another struggle associated with this journey just because that is natural when you are starting something new. Stepping out of my comfort zone has definitely been a huge struggle I am overcoming daily in real estate because it is a field where you will learn something new each day.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a licensed Georgia Realtor specializing in commercial and residential real estate ranging from selling, buying, lease-to-purchase, and investment properties. I specialize in new construction home building. I am known for thoroughly educating my clients on the home buying process and how to utilize real estate as an investment for high yield profits. I am most proud of my clients who are sacrificing and pushing themselves to the limit to become first-time homeowners. I am grateful to be their trusted Realtor throughout this process. My willingness and advocacy for my clients’ best interest is what differentiates me from others. My objective is to focus on the serving over the selling and ensuring my clients’ needs are met.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
COVID-19 has reminded me even more of the importance of having contingencies in place in the event of crisis. COVID-19 taught me the importance of stillness while provoking me to be more appreciative of daily privileges and pleasures.
