Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Harold.
Hi Danielle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I have been a professional makeup artist (M.U.A) for over 14 years. I am originally from Washington, D.C., Maryland (DMV). Music and the arts are what introduced me to the world of makeup. As a Music Performance Major at Morgan State University, I was committed to great skill with stage appearances and looks. It was then I realized that I love beautification, not just for myself but for others. To bring the beauty from within, have it shine outwardly, and give people a boost in confidence makes me happy.
In October 2011, I was given the opportunity to volunteer my services for a Breast Cancer Awareness Fashion Show. This Fashion Show’s models were women who were survivors and those who were still in their fight with Breast Cancer. One of the ladies I had the honor of servicing had stage 4 Breast Cancer and was only given a short amount of time to live. As she began to tell me her story and her journey, I was so full and encouraged. I handed her the mirror to look at her look and she cried. She looked at me, held my hands, and prayed over them. She told me that my hands were greater than what I could see on the surface, but it would always uplift and encourage those I service. She thanked me for allowing her to feel and look beautiful one last time. I was told that about a month or two after the fashion show, she made her transition. She will always be a part of the story of how DHBEAUTY went from a hobby to a ministry.
One of my greatest passions is my ability to teach and mentor others. From makeup enthusiasts to professionals and everyday women, I strive to make learning simple and effective. I want those working with me to feel more confident and passionate about what they have learned, whether it be applying it to themselves or others.
In November 2022, I stopped running from something God had given me a vision of years ago. Instead, I stepped out on faith to pursue DHBEAUTY full-time. Full-time influencing and being a professional MUA. Also, launching our first set of products, Kissable Nudes pigmented glosses, was just the beginning! In January 2023, we launched our Kissable Reds line which consists of soft matte red-pigmented liquid lipsticks.
As a makeup artist, I specialize in bridal, every day, entertainment, and special occasions. As an influencer, I specialize in not only sharing my favorite makeup products, clothing, and accessories, but I also share the gospel and my faith. Encourage and help others and myself, as I also am a work in progress.
We currently have 70k followers combined over all platforms and reach new people daily. I love sharing my gift with the world and my faith with it. So many lives have been blessed, but most importantly, I’ve been touched by what God can do through me. My faith journey with DHBEAUTY is accompanied by my loving husband, Coach Larry, of 14 years, and my four beautiful, loving children!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Hasn’t been a smooth road, but a worthy road. All of my failures have been lessons to catapulted me into what God would have for me to be as a wife, mother, business owner, and makeup artist.
In November 2022, I launched my cosmetic line of DHBEAUTY. I will admit while nervous, I was full of faith and excitement. However, if I am sincere, I was not appropriately prepared to handle what was to come with this business. Now, in November 2023, I have to close the cosmetic line of DHBEAUTY to revamp and reorganize some things. See, financially wise, DHBEAUTY cannot sustain itself on its own. I’m starting from nothing and building something that I know God told me would touch the masses, but there is still a preparation I must do.
People can assume, at times, that because you have over 70k followers across all socials, are married with children, lovely photos, etc., everything is all together, which can limit support from some. Businesses cannot run without funds. To continue to do restocks and have new releases, there must be something to capture not only your current clientele but also those you are looking to reach. And if people aren’t purchasing products or even booking me for makeup engagements, there’s no money to re-up or sustain any part of your business.
So, I have to step back, re-evaluate, reorganize, restructure, and put things in place financially and structurally. Going back to work and doing more classes and influencing until DHBEAUTY can sustain its own. Not just sustain but provide the services and give back as God has shown me before.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a professional makeup artist and have also launched my cosmetic line. Currently, we have our Kissable Nudes. Seven nude glosses that are tailored and made for all skin tones. And we have our Kissable Red Soft Matte Liquid Lipsticks. Six soft matte liquid lipsticks in different shades of red that are moisturizing and smudge-proof.
As a makeup artist, I specialize in bridal, every day, entertainment, and special occasions. As an influencer, I specialize in not only sharing my favorite makeup products, clothing, and accessories, but I also share the gospel and my faith. Encourage and help others and myself, as I also am a work in progress.
What separates me from others is that I am me. I never want to compete with anyone except myself. I can only be me, and to try to imitate or duplicate another gift would be an insult to God and myself. I am also a person who celebrates and pushes my comrades. This industry is full of talented and fabulous people. Each of us possesses something special that is to be celebrated, not competed or compared.
What am I most proud of? I am proud of pushing through and continuing. There have been many times that I wanted to give up. I’m a person who tried to give up on life because I felt things were too hard and my family and the world would be better off without me. But God said not yet; there’s still work to do. I’m still here. Every day may not be perfect, but I’m an imperfect person who serves a perfect God. So with my faith and determination, I will do what I have been created to do.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
The biggest advice I could give is to not allow fear of a no or the unknown to keep you from putting yourself and what you are called to do out there. The purpose of networking is to build those relationships and make lasting impressions so that when opportunities arise, the people in the positions that make the decisions will remember who you are and what you do.
Finding a mentor can be tricky; however, I feel it’s one of the greatest things to have. No one has all the answers. You can be a master in what you do, but there will always be someone who knows more. Pray, fast, and seek God to put you in the place where you are supposed to be mentored and covered. Make sure you are humbled enough, but allow the correction and great enough to see your greatest as your mentor will see as well.
What has helped me has honestly been prayer and a great support system to keep me steady. Especially when I become overwhelmed. I thank God for allowing me to have these people to keep me grounded, help me see what I can’t, and help push the vision that God gave.
