Today we’d like to introduce you to Demontae Mosley
Hi Demontae, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I come from a similar background you hear much of, but the difference is I truly believe if we can change our outlook on a few things, we can change the bigger picture. I’m from the Southside of Atlanta. I been to many elementary schools , but we had to move often. At the end of 5th grade, I took a gifted test and my life changed forever. The pressure to achieve weighed very heavy on on my soul, but I stayed down and maintained composure. But that part of the story doesn’t matter as much as what happened next. I turned to God, and he saved me. From ruin, stress, and cycles that typically go on the life of not only POC, but everyone. Not just now, he’s been there since the beginning. I wouldn’t know where I would be without him or his son Jesus.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road is really what you make it. Add a little perspective and what do you get? My road was rocky but I kept looking for the good and I kept my head up figuratively, and it became smoother, easier, less stressful. I’ve dealt with bad family environments, losing friends, gaining friends, it’s all the typical but I never let none of it stray me from God.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am very flexible when it comes to creativity. I have a background in drawing, making music and editing videos, I don’t really have a specialty at the moment, I like being fluid. I’m known for being nice, caring, and supportive. Also playing rocket league on YouTube & TikTok. My stubbornness and willingness to not give up even when my back is against the wall is my greatest strength. Also being there for people, especially when they feel they have no one.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Well hopefully we can get more positive influencers to do more content and spread the word of God. I’m hoping that in the next few years, things can become more peaceful even if it’s one heart at a time. Peace is the only trend I’m looking forward to.
