Today we’d like to introduce you to Don Ruck.
Hi Don, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Grew up in a small town in Mississippi for most of my life. I always wanted more so I joined the military as well as went to college for Psychology. I slowly began to figure out more about myself through this and noticed I loved artistic things: such as modeling, film and poetry. So I decided to move to the black capital with the purpose of pursuing my dreams and a few people I trust helping me along the way.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
So far, it’s been pretty smooth but the team and I make it that way. Because in life, when you see a goal, you just have go for it one step at a time. Some days are slow, some not so much. But it is a process.

What sets me apart is the fact that I don’t try to think outside the box, I “become” the box. I take notes from people I’m inspired by and do what feels right and organic to me. That’s my specialty. At the moment I’m not known but I am up and coming. With the right time, work and energy put in, I look to be seen on billboards one day and want to take this as far as I can.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I take time to listen to podcasts, Ted Talks, or really anything positive while I workout, walk on trails or on my home from work, etc. Whenever I have time to.
