Rising Stars: Meet Donyé Alane

Today we’d like to introduce you to Donyé Alane.

Donyé Alane

Hi Donyé, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m currently pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, specializing in Childhood and Adolescent Disorders. My six years of experience in behavioral and mental health have solidified my passion for helping others navigate life’s challenges. While I first considered content creation in 2017, I realized I needed more time to refine my vision. After several years of planning and preparation, I finally launched Worthy Soul in April 2024.

My background in behavioral and mental health includes roles as a Parent Aid, Case Manager for individuals with serious mental illness, Mentor, and Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) service provider. This work has given me unique insights that I bring to Worthy Soul. Inspired by my own personal growth journey, I strive to be a thoughtful advocate for positive change, grounded in my faith. I aim to live according to God’s wisdom and understanding, constantly working towards becoming my best self. My commitment is to make a meaningful impact on others’ lives through compassion, integrity, and faith.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In the spring of 2023, my apartment was destroyed by a fire, and my younger sister and I lost all of our possessions. This was incredibly discouraging and forced me to postpone my brand launch while we focused on recovery. I also had to take a leave of absence from school to deal with the aftermath, which further delayed both the launch and my graduation.

Throughout this difficult period, my faith was my anchor, motivating me to keep working toward my brand goals and helping me navigate the challenges. My biggest hurdle now is balancing my priorities. As I approach the end of my master’s program, with my practicum and internship on the horizon, my education has to be my primary focus. At the same time, I’m building Worthy Soul, which demands a significant investment of time and energy. To manage everything, I’ve had to adjust my expectations for Worthy Soul’s timeline. While I’m passionate about the brand, I know that completing my master’s degree is my top priority.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My background in behavioral and mental health has inspired me to create content that empowers individuals to overcome challenges and become their best selves. I aim to share valuable, accessible knowledge that anyone, regardless of clinical experience, can understand and apply.

I publish long-form content on YouTube and use Instagram, Facebook, and Threads to share short-form videos and original quotes. My content explores the daily challenges we face in personal growth and overcoming obstacles. I share some of my own related experiences to inspire and motivate others on their self-improvement journeys. Through vulnerability and authenticity, I reassure my audience that we are all worthy of a fulfilling life, imperfections and all. I emphasize that while achieving this requires effort, we are worth that effort. By sharing my own journey, I hope to help others navigate similar challenges, offering insight, understanding, and motivation as they discover and embrace their true potential.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memories revolve around basketball and simply being in the gym. Whether I was playing, watching others, or helping out, I always loved the atmosphere and met so many people who positively impacted my life. The gym was my safe space, a place I always looked forward to. Playing on the school basketball team in elementary school was a particularly cherished time, mainly because it gave me the opportunity to compete alongside the boys. I loved that I could play on equal footing with them and see that I was just as capable.
