I’m Dr. Gwennetta Wright, the CEO and Tax Professional of Xpert Tax Service LLC. My journey into the tax world began with a personal quest for knowledge about my own taxes. As I delved deeper into the subject, my passion for educating others ignited, and that’s when I decided to establish Xpert Tax Service in 2006. Over the years, our small venture has blossomed into a successful company with multiple locations. We take great pride in not only providing tax preparation, business consulting, and notary services, but also in empowering our clients with knowledge about tax savings and business development. Our mission extends far beyond financial success; we aim to create a lasting legacy for our family and inspire others to carve their own stories. Giving back to our community is deeply ingrained in our values, as we believe in making a positive impact. With heartfelt gratitude and unwavering determination, Xpert Tax Service continues to uplift clients, foster growth, and serve as a source of inspiration.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting a business has been both exciting and challenging. Along the way, I’ve faced some tough situations. One challenge was having enough money to keep the business going. Sometimes, there weren’t enough customers or too many expenses, which made it hard to pay for everything. Another challenge was learning to share responsibilities with others. I used to think I had to do everything myself, but I learned that teamwork is important. Lastly, the business world is always changing, so I had to learn new things to keep up. These challenges taught me that even when things get tough, I can find ways to overcome them and keep going.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Xpert Tax Service is a company that helps people with their income taxes. We’ve been doing this for almost 20 years! Our main focus is preparing income tax returns for individuals and small businesses. But we do more than just that! We also provide business advice and help people start their own tax companies.
One thing that makes us really proud is our longevity in the industry. We’ve been around for a long time, and that’s because we believe in supporting our community. We’re not just here to make money; we genuinely care about helping others.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?

When I started my business, I wish I knew more about making money in different ways and how important it is to make connections with people. Building relationships can help your business grow and succeed. So always keep learning, stay open to new ideas, and make friends in your industry.
