Today we’d like to introduce you to Eddie Neam.
Hi Eddie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started out in music as a radio and club DJ, coming up through Southwest Florida and eventually breaking major records on iHeartRadio and in clubs across the country as DJ Flip. Early in my career, I helped push records for Kanye West (Ye) with Def Jam Recordings and became known for breaking hits like Tyga’s “Taste,” Tory Lanez’s “Talk To Me,” and YFN Lucci’s “Everyday We Lit.” Those experiences shaped my foundation and showed me how powerful music and culture can be when they connect with people.
After years in music, I spent time in Houston, Texas, where I was featured in a music video with That Mexican OT and BigXthaPlug. That experience introduced me to filmmakers and creatives who encouraged me to explore acting, eventually leading me to move to Atlanta to pursue it more seriously.
Since February 2025, I’ve been fortunate to work on sets for major production companies including MTV, Paramount, Orion Pictures, and Amazon MGM Studios. I’ve appeared in Will Trent (Season 3) and had the pleasure to work with Academy Award–winning actor Mahershala Ali on an upcoming film directed by Bassam Tariq, currently in production. I’ve also had the opportunity to be on the same sets as Sylvester Stallone and Samuel L. Jackson, gaining invaluable experience around some of the most respected names in the industry. Each project has been a step forward in building my craft and expanding my presence in both music and film.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been easy. Transitioning from music to film felt like starting a brand-new video game I’d never played before. I had to completely learn a new system, understand a different workflow, and adapt to a world where the rules weren’t clearly defined. A traditional 9-to-5 job wouldn’t work in this industry—you never know when an opportunity will appear, and sometimes weeks go by without a call. I had to hustle constantly, finding gigs to keep myself afloat while waiting for agency calls, balancing survival with growth in my acting career.
Beyond just being on set, there were the invisible pressures: investing in wardrobe and headshots, maintaining physical health, and staying camera-ready while building your personal brand. Every detail mattered, and the effort could be exhausting. Networking, following up with casting directors, and showing consistent reliability became part of the daily grind. Some days it felt overwhelming, but each challenge taught me discipline, resilience, and focus. If it’s something you truly believe in, you learn to push through every obstacle and find creative ways to make it happen.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m an artist and creative working both in front of and behind the camera. While I’ve stepped away from professional DJing, I continue to create content for other artists and creatives, helping them navigate the evolving industry and connecting them with the resources they need to bring their projects to life. My work spans music, visuals, and film, allowing me to contribute in multiple ways and support projects from concept to completion.
Since moving to Atlanta, my focus has shifted primarily to acting. I’ve approached each set with curiosity, professionalism, and a willingness to learn, bringing a fresh workflow and perspective that people respond to. Being on set has shown me how much collaboration, timing, and adaptability matter, and I enjoy finding ways to make every project run smoother while still honoring the creative vision.
What I’m most proud of is my ability to transition between creative fields and maintain authenticity while building my craft. I’m known for my work ethic, adaptability, and the quiet energy I bring that helps projects move forward without getting in the way of the work itself. What sets me apart is my dual perspective: having spent years creating in both music and film, I understand the balance between artistry and execution, and I bring a grounded, solution-oriented presence that enhances every project I’m a part of. For me, creativity is as much about persistence and dedication as it is about talent, and I approach each opportunity with both.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
The best advice I can give anyone starting out in this field is to truly believe in yourself. Be confident in who you are, and make sure this is the path you genuinely want to pursue. This isn’t a typical 9 to 5. it’s a daily hustle that demands patience, persistence, and the ability to adapt to opportunities and challenges as they come.
Your network is one of your most valuable assets. I had to relocate several times before I found the right place to grow, and each move taught me lessons about timing, positioning, and being ready when opportunities arise. Along the way, maintaining your headshots, keeping your image professional, and consistently showing up are all crucial parts of building your career.
But the most powerful tool you have is your story. How you’ve grown, what you’ve overcome, and how you’ve manifested your outcomes is what truly resonates with audiences, collaborators, and fans. Social media numbers and algorithms can only take you so far; authenticity and the narrative of your journey are what inspire people and create lasting impact. Success in this industry isn’t just about talent—it’s about dedication, resilience, and the ability to keep moving forward while staying true to yourself and your vision
