Today we’d like to introduce you to Edwin Rivera.
Hi Edwin, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve always loved music growing up. I started messing around with the piano at four years and always liked playing. Moved to Orlando FL in 2004 I was in going to Ocoee High school and I met someone who introduced me to FL Studio and it was a wrap from there.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has its ups and downs like everything else especially being independent. At the beginning, I didn’t know the business side of the industry with beat sales fluctuating. I had to give a lot of beats away free for promotion using SoundCloud and Soundclick. I didn’t understand marketing than putting most of my grind in finding my sound and learning to mix. It was so much I didn’t know but I had to learn and still learning each day. I loved doing what I did so much It didn’t bother me much I was willing and persistent.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a Producer/Engineer. A Producer first. I’ve produced beats for Fella On Yac, Haitian Fresh, Gunplay, Koly P, 300lbs of Guwop, DTE Lil Dayday, Lil Zane and more artists, I’ve gotten song placements on TV shows and movies. Also did a little acting for the movie “As The Smoke Clears” and have scores in Wingin It on tubi. My work ethic really sets me apart from a lot of producers and my sound.
Any big plans?
I plan to help up-and-coming artists and other producers with an artist development program which I will provide beats or connect artistss with Producers, distribution, marketing, music videos, placements and more tools to help bring the artist to the next level through my new business OutputMedia.
