Today we’d like to introduce you to Elyse Yang.
Hi Elyse, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Before starting Elyse Living Interiors, I worked as an attorney for large law firms for almost ten years both in Atlanta and Chicago. It was during this time, when I was working for an international law firm here in Atlanta, with a toddler at home and pregnant with baby #2, in a too small apartment, during the pandemic, that my husband and I built our first home.
Through that experience I found my enthusiasm for interior design. I also had gained a profound understanding of how (1) difficult it can be to live in a space that does not support your desired lifestyle and (2) overwhelming the design process, and the myriad decisions that come with it, could be for a busy family. I founded Elyse Living Interiors to help busy families by taking the heavy load of designing their home off their shoulders and creating spaces that feel personal and inspire them to live the full, beautiful, life they envision.
Since then I’ve been blessed with wonderful clients and a largely referral based business.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
In establishing my business, I’ve been very fortunate that the Interior Design industry has become so collaborative. I have had wonderful, unofficial, mentors along the way and found a community of designers who are very supportive of each other. Entrepreneurship is never easy but I’ve found it to be very fulfilling!
On the design side of things, a significant part of what we do as interior designers is solve problems and advocate for our clients. So, interior design in and of itself requires us to regularly meet with and overcome challenges. But that’s part of what makes seeing our designs come to life so rewarding! If it was easy, our work wouldn’t have the same impact both for our clients and us.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a lifestyle-based interior design firm that creates timeless, livable, spaces for busy families, while taking the overwhelm out of the design process. We start every design with gaining an understanding of our client’s lifestyle — who lives in the home (including pets!), what is important to them, what are their routines and how can we support them, what do they want more and less of in their day-to-day life in their home, how do their current spaces support or drain them now. We take that information into account throughout the design process, from layout and flow to finish and furnishing selections and even styling decisions. We want our clients’ homes to reflect their personal style and support the life they want for their family within those walls.
Further, our clients trust us to carry the weight of the design process for them. And with gratitude, we take on the decision-making, logistics management, and communication required to craft a beautiful, functional, personal, and cohesive space or home for them.
We offer full-service design services as well as a fleet of consulting packages to meet each of our clients’ specific needs.

My favorite thing about our city is our community. Atlantans are loving, present, and supportive friends. They are eager philanthropists, They deeply enjoy and patronize the arts. And they celebrate and cherish small businesses. We are such a vibrant community. We are fortunate to have each other!
