Rising Stars: Meet Esh Nicole of Philadelphia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Esh Nicole

Hi Esh , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
After a 10 year relationship ending in divorce and feeling as if I lost my identity. I started to experience a lot of emotions about finding my passion. I knew I was creative with my hands, like I could build a table and do hair but those things were hobbies not my passion. One day I got on social media and started expressing myself and found out there were a lot of people like me. Slightly broken but still loved themselves enough to push through what life was throwing at us. My ex employee Ler Steven’s had a podcast for about 2 years and he would see my tweets. He asked me to come on his podcast and of course I said yes because he was my friend but I honestly did not want to do it for multiple reasons. One I speak really fast, im from Philadelphia so my accent is a factor as well. Also I’m a people pleaser so of course I was in my head like what will people think? But I did it and boy oh boy did I find my voice! Soon after Ler called me and asked if he could produce a podcast for me and I said No! Lol but we did it and now we both co-own an entire Podcast Studio just 2 years later.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
What is a smooth road? Like the yellow brick road that Dorothy skipped through? Even she had a few bumps lol. Of course I’ve struggled! With my podcast I struggled with my topics because I have a s*x podcast but I also have a family so I did not want to embarrass or disappoint anyone. My studio is a struggle because I have to make sure the podcast pays enough to cover the bills so making sure I’m putting out good and mostly consistent content.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My name is Esh and I have a podcast called Esh Your Heart Out where I talk about my past and present s*x & dating experiences. I evaluate my situations with my producers and find the humor in them. My podcast is different because it not giving advice I’m being the example of how things can be funny although the world tells us we should cry about it! I think I’m most known for my laugh and take on the situations we talk about. I try to see things from the outside and I often question my intentions instead of blaming others.

Any big plans?
I’m looking forward to taking my platform to radio or TV. I am currently interviewing with a few stations and I’m excited to try something new! I’m also looking forward to expanding my studio. We currently have 4 sets inside and we eventually want to be able to do a full production movie in our space.
