Today we’d like to introduce you to Evan Bailey
Hi Evan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Simply I’m a kid from Stone Mountain GA with a love for Hip-Hop and a passion for film. I’ve spent years developing the sound and the look and now I’ve got a product that showcases my attention to detail for both
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing worth having comes easy and no one who’s story is worth listening to made it over night. Getting my music heard by people who matter has always been the problem. Hip-Hop went global and with it’s appeal the culture has lost some of the qualities that made it so impactful and wise. The Film journey has been the same, struggling to find an audience interested in cinematography as opposed to flashy imagery and effects. With the speed in which people consume and create media in the modern age building something timeless and with depth takes intent in order to reach the intended demographic. After 10 years of seeing cards on the table I now have a much better way of playing my hand.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Being an artist and film maker I’m able to really bring my vision to life as well as help others. I’m a Hip-Hop head, I’ve studied the greats and worked on my skills, I’ve put them out in the world and the response is evident of my knowledge and experience with the artform. The same can be said about my film work due to me being a cinephile. I really enjoy studying these two artforms and I believe my expression of them is what sets me apart from the rest.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Taking your time while understanding that timing is everything will help you create exactly what’s needed for yourself and your community as opposed to playing catch up in the rat race. Especially when it comes to music and content creation. Take your time especially if just getting started. No one is checking for you yet and even if they were never be afraid to wipe the slate clean and rebrand.
