Rising Stars: Meet Faydra Black

Today we’d like to introduce you to Faydra Black.

Hi Faydra, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my digital content creation adventure on Twitch. I was a stay at home mom and just wanted to interact with people. I was already an avid gamer so it just made sense. Over the years, I got involved in a few communities and made connections. In 2019, I did my first panel at a convention (Southern Fried Gaming Expo) and later that year was part of planning a streamer event for Dreamhack.

In spite of a few setbacks due to covid, I still kept a foothold in content creation. Everyone’s mental health took a toll, including my own. That is when I started Tiktok. I found that making smaller bits of content was easier to maintain during that time. And still kept me busy and goal-oriented. During my divorce, I chose to explore adult content creation. One for the additional money and two for the self-esteem boost. Both things that were sorely needed as a newly single almost 40 adult. It has been a fun adventure. I met so many cool people along the way. Now I currently speak and moderate panels at DragonCon and attend a few other conventions as an invited guest. Going forward, I am pushing an emphasis on mental health among creators as well as doing my part to de-stigmatize adult content creation in conjunction with sex and body positivity. My goal for the next year is to curate a list of companies/sponsors that will work with adult content creators because so many brands are afraid of tarnishing their image by working within that type of media. Current sponsorships are only limited to adult-related companies but most of them use energy drinks, play video games, and all kinds of normal things that traditional content creators do (and get sponsored for).

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it has not been an easy road. The stigmatization of my being female, over 40 and an adult content creation has thrown many many challenges my way. But in all honesty, that is part of the fun. Aside from dating. That has been a disaster, lol

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I currently create content on Twitch, Instagram, Tiktok, and Onlyfans. On Twitch, I stream World of Warcraft, Overwatch 2 and do LEGO builds. For Tiktok, I showcase my dating fails and general goth chick comedy. Instagram tends to be a snapshot of my daily live. And Onlyfans needs no explanation.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
My daughter. She is enamored by the things we do. I take her to conventions and events. She loves seeing the new things, meeting new people. And she is getting into cosplay now which is so exciting.

I also love knowing that I have made a difference. I get messages all the time on various platforms thanking me for talking about mental health and showing people its ok to not always be ok. So many content creators only show the carefully curated perfection. I show the good and the bad.
