Today we’d like to introduce you to Floyd Grant.
Hi Floyd, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
It all started back in 2010 when I decided to go solo. I stepped out of my comfort zone and made my dreams come true. It wasn’t easy because I was alone, but then the opportunities came and that’s when I realized early on that my hard work over the years paid off and is still paying off.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It wasn’t easy in the beginning, I dealt with rejection, I dealt with people who knew I was gifted but wouldn’t help. I had to create my own lane and that’s where I found success. I began to show people that I can do it, just like they could or possibly better. I didn’t take NO for an answer. When all odds were stacked against me. I continued, the key word here is “Continued”.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am most proud of that after 12 years of professional singing, Im thankful for all of the lessons I’ve learned in the Music Industry. I am grateful for all of the connections and relationships built over time and even the ones that went south, I learned some valuable lessons from them as well. I’m proud of all the opportunities that came my way and still coming today. Im proud that Im still Singing and that people still listen to my music to date.
What sets me apart is my willingness to allow others to shine while I shine as well. I believe there is room at the table for everyone to shine. I don’t believe in being jealous of others or blocking people from their purpose. What God has for them is for them and what God has for me, its for me.
Any big plans?
Well, I have created this R&B show event that started in December 2022. It Highlights other Artists and Influencers that I personally know and it sheds light on greatness! May 6th, 2023 we are back again for Vol 3 themed “R&B: Tacos + Vibez = Tingz. Live at Jamrock South Restaurant and Lounge in Jonesboro, GA. I’m looking forward to it and the many more volumes.
