Rising Stars: Meet Hannah Barber

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Barber.

Hi Hannah, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As a little girl, I always knew that I would be a hairstylist. I used to tell my mom I wanted to go to Auburn University to study cosmetology not knowing that was not a beauty school. I grew up around hair, watching my great aunt do hair out of her shop where I’m from in Dothan, AL. My older cousin April taught me how to do quick weaves in 9th grade and it just stuck with me. In 2016. I went to hair school at Paul Mitchell; In 2019, I went full-time with hair. I stayed consistent with my craft, most importantly walked in my purpose and kept God first. Now I’m here! I’m not where I want to be but I do know I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road at all from marketing to trying to gain new loyal clientele and making sure my old loyal clients happy, to finding my niche when it comes to what I want to specialize in, etc. It comes with a lot but I remained focused and still is.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a beauty professional, hair artist, hairstylist, cosmetologist, whatever you want to call me. I specialize in everything hair from natural styles, silk press, any type of weave installation, braids, twists, ponytails, locs, color services and cutting services.
