Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Coleman.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was first introduced to photography at thirteen. My grandfather bought me a film point and shoot camera from a local shop in downtown Gatlinburg, TN. Fast forward a few years and I was about to enter my senior year of high school. That same grandfather, and my grandma, took me and my brother on a month-long road trip out West, starting in Virginia extending to California, and ending in Akron, Ohio. Before we left for the trip, they handed us both digital point and shoot cameras to use on the trip. From there, my love for photography grew, and I wound up graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in media communication. Most of my experience and expertise developed after college. I had been a full-time employee and freelancer for a while but am now an entrepreneur working with individuals, entrepreneurs, and brands to provide high-quality, authentic photography that helps them connect with their audience.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being a creative entrepreneur is not an easy journey. I’ve found that there are a lot of personal challenges such as imposter syndrome, that most people struggle with in isolation until they found out others are experiencing the same thing. There’s definitely a process of self-discovery that happens, in addition to learning business that takes a while. Not to mention continuously taking opportunities to grow your technical and interpersonal skills. As a creative entrepreneur, much like other entrepreneurs, you fulfill every role your business needs. I think it’s a fun process, but it’s definitely tiring at points.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in providing high-quality, authentic photography for personal and professional brands. I have been told that I capture emotion well, which, is an honor because emotion is what connects us to others. It’s important that my clients connect with their audience to build trust, bring value, and grow their business. I’m happy to be a part of that. As far as my style, my style is warm, elegant, and more editorial.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I believe God has a plan and is committed to carrying it out for my good and joy, and his glory.
