Rising Stars: Meet Ibraheem Moye

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ibraheem Moye.

Hi Ibraheem, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always loved clothing since I was young, I would go to goodwill with my mom and Walmart and shop on the clearance racks. I always wanted to wear something that only I had and could find. My parent both were fashionable in their own way so I would say that was my inspiration mixed with my own. So basically in 2016, I was broke in a friend’s apt living with them while looking for a job. And I had a site I use to go on creating mockups and little saying just for fun. I always wanted to create a hat for myself, but I needed a saying to put on it. So, I came up with something that I felt was a big deal to me and could really spark some conversation. So, I was chose the saying “father not baby daddy” and it was just something I felt needed to be separated. So, I had 6 hats made just to see how they came out. And it took me a while to sell them, but I kept getting compliments on it and ppl wanted to have conversations about it. So fast forward I kept getting asked if I had a clothing brand when they saw the hats and I didn’t do it got my mind going. I said let’s play around with the idea of me creating a clothing brand. So, I had to find a name and logo. When I was coming up with that, I had to find something that I felt I could relate too and that spoke to my inner being and reflected my lifestyle. So, I came up with conscious apparel and I added my last name to it so it’s conscious apparel by moye.

I began starting to get clothes made; shirts hats; socks, jackets, etc., I was able to get Rick Ross, nle chopper, rapper Kasiday WNBA/NBA, and NFL players wearing it. So, it’s been spreading and growing through the years. Sold to 40 states and countries outside of the us also.

Really what got me to where I am now which has been consistency and quality that’s my biggest thing I harp on. If you don’t have that you don’t have a brand. So that’s what drives me and just to be able to bring awareness to not only my community but other around our communities. Really offer a great clothing with a positive message. And really stay in constant remembrance of mind body spirit and what our purpose is,

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, the road hasn’t been smooth all the time. I’ve lost things had merchandise stolen before. Had inventory sit for months. Just been out of it mentally and emotionally.

Being organized, managing money, learning about the clothing bisness

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in high quality clothing with a dope message and a real mission. I have clothing from baby onesies to my own purses for ladies. Personal trainer also.

I’m most proud of my resilience and drive when I don’t feel like I want to go anymore. I’m proud of being able to hear others talk about my brand in a positive light and may have made them feel great Wearing it.
