Today we’d like to introduce you to Isabella Robinson
Hi Isabella, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey has been shaped by curiosity, service, and a relentless drive to create meaningful change. Growing up with progressive parents who instilled in me the values of self-actualization and advocacy, I was always encouraged to think beyond myself and seek ways to uplift others. My passion for travel was sparked early, taking me to places like China, Israel, and Portugal, where I immersed myself in diverse cultures and gained a deep appreciation for global unity.
Beyond travel, my mission has always been rooted in service. I believe in using my platform for impact, whether through monthly donations to the Texas Innocence Project, which provides legal services to the wrongfully incarcerated, or funding the University of Texas at Arlington’s Emergency Assistance Fund, which once supported me during my undergraduate years. As a proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., I’ve also been hands-on in initiatives like Operation Big Bookbag, donating school supplies, participating in the St. Jude Walk, and volunteering at local food banks.
Now, as a content creator, I merge my love for travel, culture, and advocacy, using storytelling to connect, educate, and inspire my audience. Whether I’m sharing travel hacks, highlighting hidden gems around the world, or shedding light on causes that matter, my goal is to create content that resonates and sparks action.
To me, leadership is not just about personal success—it’s about creating opportunities for others, amplifying voices that need to be heard, and being a catalyst for progress. This journey is ongoing, and I’m excited to continue making an impact, one step (or flight) at a time.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not—but I wouldn’t trade the challenges for anything because they’ve shaped me into who I am today. Balancing my MBA program at Johns Hopkins University while working full-time at Lockheed Martin was one of the toughest experiences I’ve ever faced. There were days when I’d clock out of work and immediately dive into coursework, running on sheer determination and little sleep. On top of that, moving from Texas to Florida, back to Texas, and now to Atlanta added layers of adjustment—new cities, new routines, and constantly having to rebuild my support system. Luckily, I was able to join an amazing organization called Ladies Athletic Club of Atlanta that allowed me to build a community of like-minded women who are about their business and prioritizing health.
One of the most difficult moments, though, was when my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer during my MBA program. Nothing prepares you for that kind of news. I flew home to be by her side through surgery, balancing school, work, and my responsibilities while navigating the emotions of seeing a loved one fight such a battle. Thankfully, she’s now in full remission, and that experience reinforced my belief in resilience, faith, and the importance of prioritizing family no matter what.
Beyond that, I’ve faced the financial strain of higher education, moments of self-doubt, and the challenges of being a Black woman in male-dominated spaces in corporate America. But through it all, I’ve learned that persistence, community, and a strong sense of purpose can get you through anything. Every setback has fueled my drive to keep going, keep growing, and keep giving back.
These struggles have only deepened my passion for advocacy and mentorship—I want others to know that no matter how rough the road gets, they are capable of pushing through and achieving their dreams.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a travel and lifestyle content creator passionate about sharing unique experiences, whether through food, adventure, or cultural exploration. My goal is to visit every continent by 30, and I’m on track to achieve that—with Australia being my final stop in December 2025. So far, I’ve traveled to over 20 countries, embracing different cultures and learning invaluable lessons along the way.
What sets me apart is not just the places I go, but how I bring others along on the journey. As a young Black woman who has traveled extensively before 30, I strive to make travel more accessible for others by providing resources like detailed itineraries, budget breakdowns, and solo/group travel guides. I know that for many, traveling can seem intimidating or out of reach, so I make it a point to break down the process and show how it can be done, no matter your background or experience level.
Through my platform, I document not only my travels but also tips on organization, packing, and making the most of each trip. My content is a mix of engaging reels, destination guides, and personal insights to help others feel confident in exploring the world. Seeing people take their first trip using my advice or message me about how I’ve inspired them to step out of their comfort zone is what makes this work so rewarding.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was naturally curious and adventurous. I was the kind of child who always asked “why” and wanted to understand the world beyond what was in front of me. My parents instilled in me the value of self-actualization and the importance of service, so I always had a deep desire to learn, explore, and give back.
I’ve always been independent and driven, which is probably why solo travel comes so naturally to me now. Whether it was excelling in school, participating in service projects, or taking leadership roles, I’ve always believed in pushing myself beyond my comfort zone. My love for travel started young—I was fascinated by different cultures, foods, and ways of life, which led me to explore places like Brazil, Nicaragua, and Italy early on.
At the same time, I’ve always been a storyteller. I loved capturing moments, whether through writing, videos, or photos, which naturally evolved into my content creation today. I was also deeply involved in my community, from volunteering at food banks to supporting causes that mattered to me, like the Texas Innocence Project and educational initiatives.
Looking back, my adventurous spirit, love for learning, and commitment to service all shaped who I am today—a traveler, content creator, and advocate for making the world more accessible and inclusive for others.
