Hi Jakenna , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello! I’m a 34-year-old child care provider serving two communities in the Metro Atlanta area. What started as an in-home childcare program has grown into two locations — The School House Academy 1 & 2. I truly love serving both sites, and my passion for children shines through in everything I do as both a provider and a parent. Creating a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for every child is at the heart of my work.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Generally, my staff, parents, and even our scholars help make this journey smooth sailing. We stay on one accord by maintaining open communication and hosting monthly Zoom meetings that keep everyone connected, informed, and working together toward the same goals.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a child care provider who truly believes in quality over quantity. What sets me apart is my commitment to providing personalized, attentive care to every child, ensuring each scholar feels seen, supported, and valued in a nurturing learning environment.

Any big plans?
No big changes — my plans are to keep everything intact while continuing to provide the most nurturing, consistent environment across the board for every scholar we serve.
