Today we’d like to introduce you to James Rolle
Hi James, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was born sept 1992. I was a Grady baby. Had 18 surgeries between 2 days old and 4years old due to being born with a bad virus. As I grew and healed over time I always wanted to cherish moments that I wasn’t promised. I was raised by my mom and she loved taking pictures so it always encouraged me to want to learn how to capture the greatest moments. I purchased my first camera and got serious in 2015. Started doing free shoots for family and friends then I started 3G Visionz. From then I started shooting music videos, live streaming, weddings, private events, corporate events and more. I’ve worked with a multitude of celebs, models, actors/actresses. Not only am I a photographer, I’m also a licensed security guard who has traveled around with celebs and multi millionaires and captured photos for them while on security detail. I love what I do. I have multiple children and I invest a lot of my time into them to teach them how to become entrepreneurs. I plan to take my photography business to the next level by expanding across the U.S. I’ve lived on all sides of town when it comes to Atlanta. Atlanta is my home.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I struggled with gaining clientele, getting clients that actually pay my worth. People letting me know that my craft wasn’t good enough when I started.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m better known as “Rollex” by most. People know me for being a “Grindin Go Getta” or having “100 hustles. I’ve worked in the medical field (medical assistant, chiropractor assistant, Dental assistant. Worked in construction. Been an auto sales man(eastsidecarplug) . I’m a tax preparer (Maxtaxpro). I do tattoos (3G Ink Atl) . I have a growing clothing brand (3G Apparel). I make Grillz (Opulent Grillz) I have a growing record label (3G Records) I have a security team (3G Protective Services). Through out everything I do I incorporate photography with it to capture all these beautiful moments. I do this for the ones who were doubted, slept on, forgotten about and left for dead.
I was told I wasn’t going to live past 2 days. I’m now 32. I was told I was never going to graduate. I attended 5 elementary, 2 middle and 6 high schools and graduated from B.E. Mays 2011. I was involved in a shooting incident in 2014 while I was in college to be a medical assistant which resulted in me facing 22 years with no discussion. 2015 I beat the case. It was self defense and I was released in time to walk across the state. I’m a walking testimony
What was your favorite childhood memory?
Christmas gatherings all the family come together and our cousins had our annual boxing matches.
