Rising Stars: Meet Jamyah Mitchell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamyah Mitchell.

Hi Jamyah, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I am the C.E.O of Myah Doll. I started my business April 20, 2020 at the age of 20. At the time, I was only selling 3d mink lashes, which were very popular at the time. I knew the lash business was the right business for me because I wore lashes mostly everyday, even if they weren’t applied correctly. It didn’t matter because I gained so much confidence just by applying a pair of lashes. I wanted every woman to have the same feeling. Now I have been in business for two years, I’ve gained more customers and also added new products to my business.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting a business will never be obstacle free. Especially running a business by yourself. Finding vendors, being customer service, responding to emails, sending refunds, I could go on and on from a list of struggles starting a business put you through. Seeing my customers happy keeps me going.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m very independent. I run my business alone plus I work a nine to five. I spend most of my time making content, finding better venders or coming up with ways to invest in myself.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
If you are looking forward to starting your own business, ask yourself what’s something you love doing. What is something you’re interested in and see yourself making money from it the rest of your life. Start your business and go at your own pace.
