Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Smith.
Hi Jasmine, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
It was my junior year at Clark Atlanta University and I wasn’t satisfied with where I was. I was too close to finishing to start over so I made up my mind to take some business classes because I always knew I wanted my own business. After graduation, I went straight to culinary school. I remember in my baking class, my chef told me she wanted me to stick with this because I had a knack for baking. I bought a kitchen aid mixer and fell in love every kitchen I worked in people knew me for dessert especially cupcakes.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Going to culinary school was not easy I worked a full-time job and drove over an hour to earn a culinary arts degree. My parents thought I should have just went to culinary school instead of college because of the debt I had incurred. With that being said, I thought I was behind but I actually was ahead I finished my degree faster due to my credits transferring and our instructors encouraged us to go to college which I already had completed.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am the owner and chef behind Passionately Kreative mobile bakery. Known for our bold flavors and custom gourmet treats and cakes. What makes us different is we aim to make genuine connections and relationships with our customers. Always giving an unforgettable personal experience.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Lessons I’ve learned were everyone’s journey is different do not compare yourself to others because you don’t know what they’ve been through to get where they are. Success does not come overnight you have to stay consistent, and every obstacle you face builds your character for the future you asked for.
