Rising Stars: Meet Jennifer Rice of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Rice.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Jennifer and I am the travel creator behind The Traveling Muse. My love of travel began when I was a young girl. My family would take road trips around the United States and those experiences sparked my desire to see the world. Traveling became the place where I felt the most alive and the most curious. What started as family vacations turned into a personal passion and eventually into a platform where I help others experience the beauty of travel too.

Today I share those moments with my audience while building group trips, creating brand partnerships, and encouraging people to explore the world with confidence. My content is rooted in authenticity, culture, and the joy that comes from discovering somewhere new.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey has not been perfect. I started building my brand while juggling a full career, family responsibilities, and financial challenges. There were moments when I questioned if people would take me seriously or if there was room for my voice in a crowded industry. As a Black woman in travel, visibility and representation also matter to me, but it sometimes means pushing through spaces where you are overlooked. I kept going because travel changed my life and I wanted to show others what is possible. Every setback taught me something, and every step made me stronger and more intentional about the direction of my brand.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I create digital travel content, host curated group trips, and partner with brands that align with my mission. My work makes travel feel accessible, beautiful, and exciting. I build full itineraries, highlight destinations and cultural experiences, and share honest insights that help my audience travel smarter. I also love connecting with hotels, tourism boards, and lifestyle brands to create content that inspires people to book their next trip. Whether I am exploring a new country, highlighting a luxury stay, or guiding a group through Peru, I focus on storytelling, connection, and creating memorable experiences.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
People are often surprised to learn that I am an introvert. I love being out in the world, but I also love the comfort of my home. I have a whole career built on traveling, yet I am the same person who sometimes does not want to leave the house. Another fun fact is that I did not travel out of the country until my 30th birthday.
