Hi Jessica, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Jessica Peros is a gifted singer-songwriter whose musical journey has been shaped by a rich tapestry of influences. Born and raised amidst the soulful melodies of the church and serenades from her Abuela’s operatic voice in the garden, Jessica’s love for music blossomed at a young age.
Her songs are a lyrical journey through the highs and lows of life, often channeling her own heartbreaks and life experiences into her soul-stirring compositions. Her previous project, “Should’ve Known Better,” (2021) served as a poignant exploration of her own heartbreak through the lens of failed relationships, resonating with many who have faced similar trials in love. Currently, Jessica just released her project “Colours” that released on February 9th, 2024.
This new endeavor is a celebration of love, sensuality, and the pursuit of healthy relationships. It also reflects her personal growth and healing from the scars of past relationships, embodying the resilience and artistry that define her musical journey. For Jessica, the act of writing and recording music is an escape from reality, a journey to a world where emotions find their voice. The euphoria of hearing the final outcome is a sensation she’ll pursue relentlessly, a testament to her unwavering dedication to her craft.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road at all there’s a lot of disrespect that happens to be in the industry, especially when it comes to being an Independent female artist.
If it wasn’t for God blessing me with my man, my team, and patience I would have given up. But throughout the struggle, I’ve found my power in it all and grounded my roots in who I am in this industry. I’m here to stay and no one will be able to take that from me.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in vocal arrangements and having a fire pen, that pairs perfectly with my vocals. I’m most proud of my most recent project which has reached 100,000 streams within the first month of it being released. My work ethic carries me so far, if you stay focused, pray up, and hit the goals you want it will take you farther than most.
I love making people feel. I think the feeling is a lost word in the world nowadays. They always tell us not feel keep going. One thing about me baby is IMA FEEL. What sets me apart is that I am able to overcome any obstacles that come my way. A lot of people doubted me because in school I was put in special ads classes. It ended up teaching me how to do things my way, and be a critical thinker that helps me so much in the real world.
