Rising Stars: Meet Jimi Fatoki

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jimi Fatoki.

Jimi, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Ever since I was a child, I always had a feeling that I would make it big. I always thought the entire world would know me. I didn’t know what for but I just always knew. My senior year of high school was the moment I started making music and ever since then, it’s been my dream. I first really blew up on TikTok back in 2020 before anything else. I grew to over 1.5 million followers in less than four months. Ever since then I’ve been working towards my dream of becoming an artist!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No it definitely was not a smooth road. I had to take many risks and make many decisions to end up in the position I am in today. I dropped out of college the second I realized it wasn’t the path I wanted to take in life. The inly two things I had was a vision and faith. I trusted in my dream regardless of what was happening in my life and just kept going. I lost many I considered friends and family along the journey but everything happens for a reason.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’ve been making music since 2019 and became a content creator in 2020. I started making videos about spirituality, mental health, motivation and more. This is the content most people know me for! Though, I’ve always had a dream of becoming an artist and sharing my truth to the world through my music. After I initially blew up on TikTok, I started previewing my music and my audience loved it! I try hard to use the same messages in my music also in my content. I am most proud of my song “New Beginnings (Brand New Coupe)” which dropped in 2020. It’s a song about manifesting your desires and creating your reality. This was a very big song for me which showed me my first success as an artist. The thing that separates me from others is that I always keep it real. I’m not one to post a video just for clout, drop a song that goes against what I believe in for clout, I don’t care about views, likes, followers, etc. I do what I do because I love it, I want to change the world.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Many people don’t know that I was actually a YouTuber before any of this. Which is where I got my name Trill Jimi. There was a kid in my high school freshman year that started a YouTube channel and was actually doing some numbers. Like I said earlier, I always knew since a child that I was gonna be big. So I then decided to start a YouTube channel too, he had Trill in the beginning of his name so I ran with it too.

Also, the three artists I would say truly inspired me, not just with music but everything is Lil Uzi Vert, XXXTENTACION, and Juice WRLD. Rest in peace to Juice & X, Wouldn’t be where I’m out today without those two.
