Today we’d like to introduce you to Kadesh Wyche.
Hi Kadesh, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
When I first started the Light Pressure series, it was out of the necessity for more money. Outside of my job, I needed to find something that would have a fast turnaround time and something that would sell regardless of the recession/pandemic – earrings were my solution.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
By no means has this process been smooth. My journey didn’t begin when I started working on Light Pressure – it started way before then. This process has taught me patience and that God’s timing is right on time.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m originally from Gulfport, Mississippi, I moved to Atlanta, Georgia to attend Savannah College of Art and Design ATL, where I majored in Fashion Marketing with a minor in Fashion Design. Though I decided to further my education in fashion, I began to further cultivate my skills as a painter and explore my love for design. My creative range allows me to explore different mediums, techniques, cultivate problem-solving skills that translate into products, and become a well-rounded artist. The focus at the moment is earring development – pushing unconventional concepts that are affordable and sustainable.
My goal as a painter/designer is to provide an outlet to reach people through my representation of social issues, capture moments in time with products, and develop moments/products for intentional dialogue.
What matters most to you? Why?
Having a peace of mind is most important to me. When creating, I create from the deepest parts of my soul and when that energy is being manifested into artwork, intentions have to be correct.
