Today we’d like to introduce you to Kali Sade
Hi Kali, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Kali Sade, and I am an R&B artist. I was born in Milledgeville Georgia, and now I reside in the Metro Atlanta Area. I started out singing as far as I can remember, and eventually started singing in the church choir. My grandfather Kenny Kelsey was in a band in the 70’s and 80’s and he encouraged us to sing and write songs. Those song writing sessions when I was a child helped me before the singer/songwriter I am today. I released my first song at the age of 15 in 2020, and since then I have released over 25 songs and an EP.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There are a lot of struggles being an independent R&B artist. The main struggle is not having the funding of some major label artist. Also, sometimes you cant access some of the major playlists on streaming platforms, as well as not getting heavy rotation on radio. However there are some rewards such as being in control over your creativity as well as being able to receive most of the revenue from your work.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am Kali Sade and I am a female solo R&B singer. I have released over 25 songs since 2020, and I will release multiple singles in 2025 and an album in 2026. My songs have reached over 5 million streams across all platforms, and my single Love Language ft. Ponderboi made the Pandora Millon Stream Club. Also, I have 3 songs that have been placed on Spotify Editorial Playlists. Some of my top songs include Prove, Love Language, 24 Hours, Oomph, Crying in the Club and Do U Wrong.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Most people do not know that I have been writing my songs since since the age of 14. Sometimes I collaborate with my sister Amari, who is also a great songwriter. Since 2003, I have been recording most of my songs in my home studio. Finally, most people do not know I was a cheerleader in high school.
